This bank decides to close my business account effective December 22nd. I have a lot going on during this month and now have to go and relocate all my auto drafts, business payments and accounts. I've held this account for over 20 years. The reason they are closing the account is because they claim they failed to collect information on the business. Let me pull you back to the fact that this account has been in place for over 20 years. I tried to provide what they requested. I went to the branch many times. They didn't keep appointments, their branch manager wasn't even sure what information they needed. Tried to articulate what he thought was needed and in the end they just send me a notice that they're closing the account because that's what's easy for Regions. NO customer focus. Horrible relationship management. There are much better banks out there. This should not be on your list of choices for any reason.

I deposited a substantial amount of money via the Regions mobile app on Monday November 20, 2023 and it stated that my deposit would be available on November 21. That timing would be perfect as my family was planning to travel the next day to have Thanksgiving with my extended family out of town. When I woke up the morning of the 21st, I saw that the deposit had been acknowledged but stated it was being held until November 29, the following Monday. That was (and at the time of this review, is still) an incredibly inappropriate and unacceptable length of time to hold the funds. I did not (and still don’t) have enough money, without that deposit, to put a proper meal on the table for my family to enjoy Thanksgiving. Regions stole that from my family. Additionally, it was my wife’s and my first Thanksgiving as married couple. I’ve had my issues with Regions in the past, and can admit in retrospect that those have been my fault. However, this time I will not accept any blame. Regions Bank has absolutely devasted our family. I tried calling the corporate office and they told me to go see a physical bank. We were spending what little money we did have left traveling the day I made that call to get to my family. And now, without the money being available until Monday, we can’t afford to travel back home until then meaning my children will be missing a day of school. This has been inexcusable. I fully expect Regions to make things right, someway, somehow. They’ve robbed my family of a proper holiday. To top it off, my wife and I are supposed to be enjoying our 1 year wedding anniversary on November 26, and now that’s not possible either.

AVOID!!! 1) You are unable to do bank to bank transfers of any kind, even through Zelle. My parents had an emergency and I was unable to send them money. They also will not allow you to use third party apps. 2) Fees are entirely too high for basic services, especially international transactions. 3) If you are unable to go into a branch to unlock your debit card, they will close the card and ship a new one only to the address on file. This happened while traveling overseas because I did not respond to an alert for a $4 transaction within 12 hours because of the time difference. STUPID! STUPID! STUPID! 3) They will deny a request for an emergency debit card from Visa. 4) People who work for Regions are generally friendly but 70% are uncompetent or misinformed. Customer service is an infuriating joke. 5) Regions makes it incredibly hard to access your money. Online services do not work well including their "Lock it" feature. 6) There are never enough people working at branches and wait times are incredible long for a bank this large. 7) I still get spoof messages targeting Regions. Do not give these clowns your money. I have a little credit union that can handle more sophisticated tasks with efficiency and for way better pricing. Once I have the time to drive 3 hours to the nearest branch, I will be closing my account and transfering everything to my credit union. Opening a bank account with Regions is one of the worst financial decisions I ever made in my adult life

I am business customer. From the word "GO" Regions has been a joke. On the very first day I should have run away. They could not get my debit card to print, not once, not twice, not at all. Finally I went to another branch after coming in twice to get my card. It was printed immediately. Then, with my new account, I started to get little holds on my card. I was told there was nothing they could do, as it had not posted. Meanwhile, I could not use those funds because the card had been held. Let me back up- their way of verifying someone is totally absurd. There is no reason to ask more questions than Amex or Discovery to verify who you are. None at all. I called today, and once again, I have a hold on my account for almost five hundred dollars- again, not able to use my funds. After, I went through all the verifications, I was told I had to go to an actual branch. You are right, I will be- to close this worthless account!

Too bad I can't give it a ZERO. regions Bank does not support Cash App, business accounts show "Send money via Zelle" tab - but they can't send money thru Zelle. Was told I could transfer money between business accounts- guess what you CAN'T DO IT! Tried to use BILL PAY - OH- sorry that DOES NOT WORK unless you have a static IP address and do not use VPN for security! Why is that I asked- it is because Regions does not think that VPN is an adequate security tool, yet they used double verification (password and text message), so why DO THEY NEED A STATIC IP ADDRESS. Every call I make, I get a different answer! It took 2 hours to set up my accounts- and they PAY 0% Interest on checking accounts- and have a 7 DAY HOLD on DEPOSITS. The branch people were nice, but they never divulged the bank short-comings

My partner and I have been banking with Regions collectively for the past 10 years. It was great in the beginning after my partner convinced me to join, but has just gotten worse as the years have gone on. When I first signed up, I was told I had overdraft protection and a lot of different perks. A few months ago, I started seeing $36 dollar charges and my account going negative. I also kept seeing $4 charges for an “imaging” fee. I was told this was because I wasn’t paperless but when I signed up I said I wanted to be paperless and hadn’t received the charge before. I was told I never signed up and to go online and get paperless. Then there was a freezing of my savings and checking account because I transferred money to my checking account. I’ve had my card decline, and embarrass me while out to dinner, just to look at my account and see that there’s more than enough money to cover the meal and getting no clear answer on why it is happening. My last straw was a few days ago, they charged me over $108 worth of the $36 dollar charge in one day after allowing my account to go negative, sending me an email letting me know on the same day I had a grace period, and the money hit my account at midnight and they still charged me three times. I contacted them, and to sum up the convo, they are COMPLETELY uninterested in keeping you as a customer. They genuinely do not care, at least the representative made sure that I knew that she didn’t care. I’ve worked as a customer service rep and I’d never treat a customer the way I was treated because I want my clients to stick with me so I can establish trust and upsell when possible because of the trust established. This has been my interaction with this bank the last three years, which is really sad because they used to have such a home feel to them and really made you feel like they cared. We were planning to look into getting a loan through them for our first home because we had banked with them for so long as a couple. Ofc it’s a bank, but it feels like Bank of America which is the bank I left to join Regions. Very, very disappointed and my partner has already switched banks, and by January I will be following in his footsteps as well.

I'm very unhappy with Regions due to fee policies. Due to a garnishment that was issued by mistake, and removed within 30 days, Regions charged me $100 as a "legal fee." This does not have the customer's best interest in mind. I feel like Regions just stole $100 from me. It makes me lose my trust for them. So, I'm actively looking for another bank now. All attempts to resolve this through talking with representatives just resorted in a "company policy" speech from Regions.
