I would not recommend using Consumer Direct Mortgage.My wife and I was just refinancing our mortgage trying to get a better rate. It started off great until the underwriting and document gathering process. They pulled information on my wife’s sister that had nothing to do with me or her. She wasn’t on the loans and we didn’t have any financial ties to sister. But for whatever reason they said we did. And would not tell us where they got that information from just incase there was some false information on our credit report. Which there wasn’t but they still would not tell us where they were getting that false information from. Plus, they said we were living at a location that we never lived at. I had to prove to them that I wasn’t the person they said that we were. There were a bunch of other things that happened that’s not worth ever using them again. It was an absolute horrible experience for anyone to have to go through.

Michael Huber was super helpful as usual! I have used him twice already to refinance my house, with streamlined results both times. Even though the system was not super user-friendly, Michael made himself available each time I had an issue and walked me through it. Overall very good experience, down to the signing of documents at my home.

I already left a review with Costco but I will repeat here. The Broker was excellent, Underwriting was excellent. Closing was poor at best as the settlement agent, Fidelity National was non-existent and unreachable who paid out amounts far in excess of a reasonable payoff for the old loan and then sent me a payment with no explanation that they later stopped payment on causing me to incur returned check charges from my bank. I now need to wait another month to get the $2K overpayment reimbursed to me from the old bank. There is definitely room for improvement in this process.
