Other than the long wait time everything was smooth and so far seems to be working well. To be fair understandable as a lot of people were getting new mortgages or refinancing. It would have been better if there were more updates while I waited from the firm rather than me chasing the loan officer.

I am extremely happy with the entire experience with Consumer Direct Mortgage and the loan I have with First Bank. Their site is really great! You can play around with extra payments to see how you might be able to pay down the mortgage faster. Definitely recommend.

The appraiser used hated our home. We live in an area where you can make house values say anything you want; 100k houses are next door to 500k houses. She turned her nose up at our house because it wasn't good enough for her. Our home is the only house I know of that fell 10k in value even after we put in 50k of work into it in the last year (effectively 130k LESS than zillion value). I can't consider refinancing with ConsumerDirect again knowing that they'll send appraisers like her to my house and charge me 550 for it then reject my application.

Originally everything was great. As the process progressed the service got extremely bad. They lost documents and repeatedly asked for irrelevant documents. If it wasn't for my realtor I would have pulled out. It was the worst experience I've ever had!
