Watch you money vanish into thin air
We have been happy owners in freehold resort in Fiji for 21 years. We bought it so that we can visit Fiji regularly, and we do. The short version of this review is that we have been members of RCi for a number of years and have only space banked our weeks when we just couldn’t get to Fiji and the year that the resort underwent extensive renovations. In that time we have NEVER received an exchange that we requested. We changed to Dial an Exchange for quite a few years, and when we did make a request, it always was met. Due to pandemic lockdowns we couldn’t visit Fiji for three years. We caught up with three weeks in 2022. At the time we were with DAE and the management at our resort held some weeks open for us , aligned with our 2022 week and the exchange back to our own resort happened in two days. EASY. A genuine mistake meant our 2021 week was deposited into RCI, so we went with it. We put in a request for two resorts in Australia and after 16 months of waiting with no result !!!!! ( not in school holidays by the way) we requested our own week is to be exchanged into our own resort! We know that we can get in. Our 2025 week is already booked in. Our management has said it will not be a problem. That was almost three months ago. Fiji Airways has a sale on. It’s now six months until we want to go. But we can’t book discount flights because RCI won’t facilitate a direct exchange the way that DAE did SO easily. We have paid membership fees and of course there will be an exchange fee and if ( may not ever happen) we do get an exchange into our own resort, the airfares could be far more expensive. So RCi makes your money VANISH and what should be a pleasant experience is infuriating!
