We are currently in the process of getting a dog via puppy spot and are having a horrible experience.
the lack of communication is shameful considering the price we paid for our puppy. not to mention they have had our money for over a week, and we have not gotten a single updated picture of our puppy. She is supposed to be coming home on Saturday and have not gotten a single update on her HEALTH! Oh and don't even bother using the "chat" function on the app. I have tried that 3x a day for nearly a week....not ONE response. Try calling on the phone...wait time of an hour. WE PAID ALOT OF MONEY to be ignored with ZERO information that they PROMISE at time of purchase. AVOID.

Catherine - Thanks for trusting us to find your new best friend, Penelope! Welcoming home a furry family member should be full of joy and we're disappointed that you have negative feelings about your experience. We never want a puppy parent to feel their needs are being ignored at any point of their experience as that is the exact opposite of what we strive to provide. We sincerely apologize for any stress or inconvenience this may have caused. Despite your dissatisfaction, we'll continue to be here if you need us at any point in your puppy parent journey.

Beware of communication trouble and inconsistent info once you make a purchase
Updating my review from 1 star to 3 stars --- after follow up from Will Bravo on behalf of PuppySpot. Will managed to issue the cancellation and apologized for all the issues. The only reason for upping to 3 stars is related to Will's willingness to help me (my rating is not a reflection of the PuppySpot business operations overall. Executives, you should be thankful to Will). PuppySpot executives should consider a different customer service framework, where a designated Puppy Manager manages a portfolio of customers. There's a lot of investment focused on sales team, rigorously following up to get you to close the deal. But very poor service once you've made a purchase. Changing to a model with a designated Puppy Manager would ensure customers receive real ongoing support and consistent info on their puppy. This would also ensure an agent follows through on information/promises they make (such as to connect customers to the breeder, connecting you to the right departments, confirm dates, follow-up on travel arrangements and health questions). Your Puppy Manager call center currently tries to rush through each call (likely because they're benchmarked against call volume or speed), so there's low focus on being able to actually answer the customer's questions (e.g, on two different call occasions, the agent explicitly mentioned I have other calls to get through). I'd also highly encourage PuppySpot update their policies to support connecting customers to ask questions from the breeder.
Original review:
Communication has been atrocious after they process your payment. First few days there's just no response or information. When you keep chasing up for info on the puppyspot app or call centre, you get a different person each time and get inconsistent information.
One person says they will try to put you in touch with the breeder, another agent says it's against policy, another agent says travel date is confirmed, then another agent says travel hasn't been organized.
We're now trying to cancel the purchase because the service feels like a scam, but getting the runaround. When you call, they say it's a separate accounts department but they can't transfer you to that department (instead you have to wait for the accounts department to call you). Then...radio silence, no call from accounts/billing. Call again to chase up cancellation and the agent puts me to puppy sales instead.
Feels like another runaround, to prevent customers cancelling after they've processed $4.5k in payment without a guarantee you'll get the puppy.
We'll be filing a complaint with Better Business Bureau and seeking legal advice if there's no accountability.

Angel - thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and allowing Will the chance to better understand your concerns. We are very happy to hear he was able to assist and make your experience just a little bit better. Your feedback is very important to us and we will definitely use it to provide a better service to our community.

I purchased one of the most costly dogs…
I purchased one of the most costly dogs on their site which stated he would be ready on Sep 21st or when he reached 2 pounds or 8 weeks. It literally said this all over the site and the app. They have since moved the travel date 3 separate times with no explanation. There is no concierge, you talk to a different rep every time you call. My kids twice have set 'calendar countdowns' and crossed off days until the pup comes only to find it is cancelled again. Extremely disappointing experience for a dog that cost 3 times what it does on other sites. I assumed I was paying a premium for excellent service and on time delivery, not so.

Betha - While we are happy to report your new puppy has made it to his forever home, we are extremely sorry for the confusion surrounding his travel details. We completely understand how anxious you and your family must've been to meet their new family member and we send our heartfelt apologies for any inconvenience it may have caused. Logistics aside, we really appreciate you for trusting us to fetch your new puppy and look forward to updates as he grows.

Initially
Initially, things went quite well. There was a glitch, first I was going to pick up our pup, but had a change of plans and decided to have him delivered to us. As the time for delivery approached, I received a text from the breeder wanting to know if I was still coming to pick up the pup! I wondered if he was left out of the loop. I contacted my person at puppy spot and she looked into it for me. Things were worked out, however, now my pup was going to be arriving a week later then expected. I was anxious to receive my pup. It seemed like I was waiting forever and this extra week made it even worse. Finally received my pup and he is healthy and energetic.

The sales process of purchasing the…
The sales process of purchasing the puppy was great. I spoke with a woman named Gina. It seemed legitimate and like they really took a lot of time and care in the way they operate.
We got a beautiful Frenchie and couldn’t be more thrilled.
HOWEVER.
Dealing with this company is a NIGHTMARE.
1- my puppy arrived with bloody diarrhea and Giardia. The infection spread to my family though we don’t know how exactly. Possibly Kissing him.
2- We initially spoke about a particular travel date and they scheduled him for a different date.
3- I could not get anyone on the phone who knew anything meaningful. They use a call center in the Philippines to handle everything and while the people are lovely they are basically working off a script and have no real hands on knowledge of what’s happening.
They are also the ones answering the same canned responses to all these reviews.
4- When our puppy was traveling I got no update for his arrival. I got an email saying he was being driven from the airport by one company and it turned out that it was a totally different company. I finally tracked that company down for an update.
5- Trying to follow up after his Giardia test it was impossible to get a supervisor in the US on the phone to discuss how exactly they sent me a puppy with a zoonotic parasite and not tell me. There is no way they didn’t know this dog had bloody diarrhea. NONE.
6- Praying that he is in fact healthy and doesn’t have any big issues as he grows
Use EXTREME CAUTION with this company.

Perri - It is our mission to place healthy puppies into happy homes, which is why we require all PuppySpot puppies to undergo a nose to tail health examination before traveling to their new forever home. This policy is not only enforced with every PuppySpot puppy’s health in mind, but also to give peace of mind to all prospective puppy parents. With that said, we understand as living breathing beings, puppies can get sick and have an experienced and dedicated health team to help resolve any medical issues or concerns our customers may have. We stand behind our industry-leading health guarantee put forth to assist with health issues that may arise after the arrival of one’s puppy. We would love an opportunity to speak with you directly to learn more about your experience. Unfortunately, we are unable to find your contact information in our system based on the name on your review. Please give us a call at your convenience at: 866-306-6064. We hope to speak with you soon.

My baby boxer girl.... one day you'll come back home 😪
I was able to bring home a sweet baby girl boxer puppy. However I didn't think things through before her coming home. I have a 2 year old son who is in occupational therapy, speech pathology and is very active. My daughter is 4 years old and is in gymnastics, dance class and very active with her play dates. Since I have two companies and work 10 hour days I care for my kids with a nanny and my mommy. My mother is not well and my nanny was not ready to care for a puppy. The entire experience was very hard on them both. My baby boxer girl was having a hard time keeping food down. Since I was busy with work and recovering from surgery I wasn't able to be part of her care as much as I would've loved to. My veterinarian hospitalized her and ran every test possible and she was cleared medically. She spent a few days with my dog sitter who gave her the attention and time she needed and she was doing great. I just felt defeated. Decided to give her to a family that the sitter knew. One day, the kids will be older and all my hard work with the companies will pay off and I will have time. Time to meet with a trainer. To take care of a puppy the way she deserves. Timing wasn't right for me and my family. Puppyspot would not refund me and I lost close to 7k. Being a business owner I understand. It took me a minute to absorb it all but I understood. My puppy wasn't sick. She had an overactive GI system and needed attention and time. Theb doctors told me she would grow out of it. In fact, the sitter started using a slow feeder and my baby boxer was doing great. Wish my vets would've recommended that before extensive testing!!!!!!
Puppyspot was were very honest with me and if there would've been a medical diagnosis I would've received a refund.
The good news is that my baby boxer is with a single mom of 2 boys now, who are older and able to give her the time she deserves.

Accountability
The process of choosing a feline and arranging payment was an easy process enough. It was the communication thereafter I’m so concerned about. Why is it that I’m important up until the payment and once the transaction is completed I am ghosted. The very success of this adoption process should include the support of Puppyspot until it’s not needed. In the future please be as attentive throughout the entire process.

Would do it all again....
I had a very good experience with Puppy Spot. I had all my questions answered in a reasonable time and received updated pictures of the puppy. The people I spoke with were very friendly and the emails I sent were also answered within 24 hours or so.
The only part I had a little concern with was the time it took for this 3 pound chihuahua to arrive home. The trip from Mississippi to Vermont was long, five days. I will say that he arrived home safely and put into my arms. The person delivering him was very pleasant and asked if I had any questions or concerns. Grateful for that.
The one thing I did see in his medical records, it showed that both of his testicles were in the scrotum when checked by the veterinarian from the breeders end. I did not see any evidence of testicles when he arrived home. I could see they were not descended into the scrotum.
I am not a vet so I took him to my veterinarian for his checkup after arriving. The veterinarian noticed that neither of his testicles had descended into the scrotum and noted that in his paperwork to Puppy Spot.
He is now 22 weeks old and there is still no sign of them descending. We are doing bi-monthly checks to see if anything will change. If no change, it will be a much more difficult and expensive procedure for the neuter for this little puppy.
Being a genetically inherited issue, I wish the original veterinarian would have noted that when filling out the paperwork for his medical clearance to travel.
The breeder was very nice when we texted to each other. I asked a few questions of her when the puppy arrived home and she was very responsive to my questions. Can’t thank her enough for that.
Even with the few concerns I had after receiving this puppy, I would purchase another puppy from Puppy Spot.
First time is always the hardest because the anticipation is always tugging at the heartstrings.
Thank you for all your patience with me and the questions.
