We are in love with our puppy, and the 1st person I talked to was so helpful. I feel the communication was very challenging after I paid.

We do apologize for the frustration you felt with communication after you'd selected Odie. Transportation disruptions have presented some challenges in our communications with some of our customers. We hope that now that Odie has been home for some time that he has adjusted well to his forever home and we wish you the very best of futures together.

We love our dog however the communication from PuppySpot completely stopped once we paid for her. They never answer the phone and messages weren’t returned. Their chat on their website is also unattended fyi.

Unfortunately, we did not do a good job of communication with you after you had selected your puppy. We have been experience some challenges due to ongoing transportation issues and this has resulted in instances of poor service for our customers. We are truly sorry with how this impacted you. However, we are glad to hear how much you love your new family member. We wish you all the best.

I’m super disappointed in my experience…
I’m super disappointed in my experience thus far. When I found this website & a particular puppy that I was interested in, I called and got someone right away. She told me it would be one week until I receive travel arrangements and probably another week until I receive the puppy. When I received the traveling arrangements, I was shocked to find out I was going to have to wait a month before I got our new puppy which was already 10 weeks old. I called puppy spot and put my number in the queue to be called back and never received a call. I called again and waited over an hour to speak to an agent who said she would ask to have the puppy flown in sooner. It was a 24 Hour drive for us one way, so driving was out of the question. It’s been three weeks since I’ve seen updated photos and I’ve asked for them twice, with no luck. I am hoping and praying that our dog actually makes the flight next week Thursday, as he will be 14 weeks old at that point, which is definitely older than I would hope. I’m highly disappointed with the customer service, post purchase. Especially since this cost me $4,845. I’d recommend trying to find a breeder closer to you. :(

Think Twice before using PuppySpot
Everything you’ve read about PuppySpot being horrible at communication is absolutely true. Waiting for hours to speak to a human being (aka Puppy Manager-TRUE, they lie to you again and again and again- TRUE, NEVER call you back or respond to emails, when they say they will - TRUE. I played by their rules. I spent over 10 hours on the phone yesterday trying to contact them. I called first and was told there were 18 people ahead of me to try the chat feature on the app (I was not given the option to give my name and be called back). I then tried the chat feature and was informed there were no Puppy Managers available. I then tried to call back and was told there were 39 people ahead of me and I could now have someone call me back and I would not lose my place in the que (NOT TRUE!). After waiting another 8 hours I tried calling again and the recording suggested I send an email. Which I did. (I still have not heard back from them on that.) Finally, I called again this morning, and waited over 2 hours to get to a human being that was RUDE. I have now spoke with 2 people at PuppySpot, both have been incredibly rude and the first one lied to me about pretty much everything. Both of them continuously interupted me mid sentence. When I spoke with the salesperson, the first question I asked was if they had any breeders for Goldens in CA? I was interested in picking up the dog since we were in the middle of a huge heat wave. She told me and I quote “There are NO good breeders, in CA, I would be really careful buying a dog bred there. All the good breeders are in the mid-west”. To alleviate my concern about the heat she told me the puppy would not be ready to ship for at least 2 weeks, from his “available” date, of September 8, 2022. We are on the West Coast it was 107 degrees yesterday. I also have a medical treatment the following week. She said there was no way he would be ready, and if he was, we could push out the date. The person I spoke to today, I first explained to her, I got a message saying the date was set, but when I clicked on it the app crashed. Her response was , “Oh yeah, we know the app isn’t working”, someone would have called you to tell you, he’s scheduled to be there on the 14th. That’s in 6 days and we are in the middle of huge heat wave. I told her what I told the salesperson and she said if we had to reschedule they would CHARGE ME A HOLDING FEE!! What? I was told the dog would not be ready to ship until the 22nd. Why would I be charged a holding fee? Why would you ship a dog in over 100 degree weather? So. I am now sitting here wondering if I’m going to get the puppy I’ve already fallen in love with.
My other concern is the “PuppySpot Promise” regarding their Breeder’s Standards. They have a huge list of standards. I truly do not see how they can possibly carry out such a complex program, if they cannot staff the phone lines, contact clients, and show some semblance of being polite.

Could easily be 5 stars, but…..
We have had our Bernedoodle for a week and he’s great and worthy of 5 stars! He seems to have come from a responsible Breeder and his papers and shots were in order. The front end sale by Puppyspot was great and everyone super friendly and responsive. We loved the app and how it provides pics and updates. As most other negative reviews pointed out, it’s all about the follow up and delivery scheduling where Puppyspot fails. The chat line is rarely answered and prepare to wait on hold for over an hour to discuss delivery arrangements. Delivery instructions changed often and reasons usually didn’t make sense. Multiple airline deliveries were changed, usually citing heat concerns and that was understandable. Eventually, these reasons didn’t correspond with the temperatures and again, communications and answers were so hard to get. They changed us to a drive delivery (we were 10 hours from puppy) and that sounded reasonable, but was also cancelled by them over app a few days before the scheduled date, requiring another call and hours on hold to find out what’s happening and we were told they didn’t think the 4 day trip was a good idea…what?? Of course it’s not and not safe. That was the last straw, so I took off work, bought an expensive plane ticket and flew to the destination, rented a one way car and drove our new puppy home. He is a healthy great dog and we love him. If Puppyspot put 10% of the energy on transportation and customer service that they put on marketing and selling, I’d give them a 5. The kicker is you still pay $300 to pick up your own pet. After all we went through and added expense to go pick up the dog ourselves, that was ridiculous. We seldom complain (nor write bad reviews) but I did about that fee and they are “considering” refunding that part of the transportation fee but I doubt they do anything. I hope they read their reviews and fix things…most negatives seem to be similar to our experience on delivery/communication.

Thank you for your feedback. We have indeed experienced some difficulties with communication of puppy travel due to recent disruptions in the transportation industry. We are indeed listening and working hard to address them. We're glad your puppy is what you wished for.

For Me ,Puppy Spot was Great.
I fell in love with a picture on Puppy spot. I was very emotional from losing my beloved yorkie. I was looking for another yorkie and had hit many roadblocks . When I saw this baby I made a quick decision . I paid in full. I was terrified waiting for my new baby. Was the picture really her? Would I get the puppy I wanted or would there be a switch? After paying I read a few bad reviews but many good ones. All that worry was for nothing. Puppy spot was really all it promised to be for me.
Our travel arrangements did not work out because I was at a summer home and they quickly refunded my fee. Then our back up plan failed and they refunded again. I ended up driving 15 hours and met with the actual breeder. She was amazing and had everything I needed to get off to a great start . She helped me arrange one of the crates I purchased for travel and we were off. We had an 18 hour drive to get home and this gave me the perfect chance to bond with my new baby. The puppy was healthy and microchipped. It was the baby I had picked! The breeder provided a very comprehensive book with pictures of my pup and her parents along with her pedigree. She also included food and advice! I was amazed and very happy! Puppy spot is very expensive but they did so much of the work to help connect me with my new pup and a reputable breeder and that was priceless to me.I have had my pup for two months now and she is happy and healthy and has helped us all find joy again. I would not hesitate to use Puppy Spot again.

LOVE our new puppy!
We absolutely love our new golden retriever! We had a great experience with puppy spot and will do it again. The sales rep who helped us was awesome😎. So easy to pick up and they sent toys and dog bed. Only downside was our puppy had picked up kennel cough from the trip down….we took to vet and she’s on antibiotics. But otherwise the puppy is healthy and so lovable. Everyone comments on “what a great dog”.
