This was my second attempt to take a Prometric online exam. The first time I had problems with the security check, and when I finally started the test, I got an error and was logged out. I contacted the assistance, and after a 90-minute chat, the exam was scheduled for a month later. To avoid any previous problems, I used a different (more powerful) laptop with an external camera. After 8 attempts to start the exam, going through a boring and exhaustive security check process, and 2 requests of technical assistance for remote control of my PC, which messed up all my security settings and configurations over 2 and a half hours, I was asked to call an international number to reschedul the exam. It took me 4 minutes to listen to the messages before I got someone to answer the call, and after I had been on hold for half an hour, I finally got the answer that I could reschedule the test with the same confirmation number. Now, I get an error if I try to reschedule. Error-There has been an unexpected error. Please try again later, please. I filled out a request for assistance form and received an email saying, "... our current response time is approximately 5–7 days." It's not a good service at all.

On Saturday 07/11/2020 was my TOEFL test in the Prometric center at 100 WALNUT AVE. Suite 105, Clark, NJ. On the day before the test, I received a phone call asking me if I was able to take the test at 7 am which was an hour earlier than what I had registered for and I accepted. I was the first one arriving at the building at 6:40 which was locked and I had to wait till 7:30 before even anyone shew on to the Prometric center. In the beginning, the lady started to list the instructions and how they will be able to check-in only from 4 to 5 students at a time. Then we were directed to a very small waiting room with only 4 chairs where shortly we, 12 test-takers, had to stand with less than 3 feet between each other. The lady who I presume to be the office admin was the most bothering part. Every time anyone moved within such an already cramped area, to assure some sort of social distance, she ushered rudely so we all ought to be re-squeezed in such a narrow waiting room!. She would speak very fast and in a strong accent and ignore the fact that we, TOEFL test takers, are not native speakers. Plus, when someone would ask her a question she would speak to him in a very harsh and disturbing manner. I myself felt humiliated and got afraid to ask any question. I was hoping that people who are running this place are knowledgeable of the fact that most of the test takers are originally very highly educated in their home countries, They’re either doctors, scientists, faculty members or engineers and they surely expected not to be treated in such a disrespectful way. Despite being the second to check-in, I was seated to test after 6-7 people who had arrived and checked in after me. I didn’t want to look upon it as an issue of discrimination so I wouldn’t be stressed during the test. I got seated in a lab where the cubicle just next to me had been occupied already. I got shocked that I am literally setting a foot distance to the following test taker. Not to mention that she seated me next to the door and she spoke with whoever with her every time she entered the lab. It was very distracting! I was about to cry in the middle of the exam of all this abuse! Also, after I had finished the test, there wasn’t a determined place to put the locker’s key in and I had to leave it on the admin’s desk!!!. All these handlings amid the Covid19 absolutely ignoring the standards identified by Governor Murphy for the indoor practices upon opening! I genuinely can not acknowledge any respect or even safety at that Prometric center. The fact that I avoided a nearby center because of the very bad reviews upon registering for the test didn’t basically save my test from getting ruined! This was actually my first time- experience in a Prometric testing center in the US and it was a horrible one. Comparing it with the centers in Canada is like comparing a road trip in a worn-out car to the first-class plane ticket. The main question is, haven't these employees gotten any minor whatsoever training on how people who show up to take the test should be treated?

If I could give 0 stars, I would. They canceled my test due to protests nearby (which were actually at least 5 miles away from the test center) and did not give me a refund even though they state on their site that they would for this scenario. Prometric did not respond to my emails or telephone calls (I stayed on the line for 3 hours with no response, and called multiple times). I had to file a complaint through my bank. This company deserves to go bankrupt.

I am a new licensee (Sept 2019) and needed help navigating the continuing education maze since I am not currently working at an agency with others to guide me through it. I called Prometric's office today 07/08/2020 to get some guidance and the gal that answered the phone was no help. It was as though I was bothering her.

Awful experience. Before the pandemic they were already terrible, showed up for my exam, 15 minutes before the schedule time of 9am, Prometric testing person was late and had a hard time checking everyone in. Didn’t get to my exam until 11:30am break was at 12. They gave us an extra 1 1/2 hour. Now with the pandemic they canceled exams 4 days before the date, no new dates have been added. Also my exam has been getting rescheduled since March, first to mid April then to the end of April, then again to May and June and July. I have been studying since January and I am so done with Prometric

Less than one star. I had been studying for months due to the pandemic. I was getting all 90's by the end on all practice tests. I went in to take the test and I failed. Almost none of the questions were familiar. Deeply unsatisfied and I am afraid to take my next test because of it. My job relies on this and I am now unsure with what to use for study material now.... So thank you Prometric for being responsible for me losing any confidence.

Horrific customer service. Calls dropped. Ridiculous online engagement.
