TEST IN PERSON! I tried to test online with Prometric. I was treated like a criminal and booted from the exam for no reason. They told me they would give me a warning (I used the restroom for 4 minutes during a designated break), but then simply booted me completely out of the exam. Then I had to pay to take the exam again which I did in person which was a much better experience! I should have been given a refund for being booted, but they are a scam. They also like to hide their business contact information. This is a big red flag. TEST IN PERSON!

Prometric provides automated testing facilities to the EU and many other large employers. One big problem is that the instructions do not match the actual testing environment and experience, and getting into the test can be extremely cumbersome technically. Getting test results, which can be automatically processed in seconds, can easily take three weeks, although they promise two weeks. There is no personal interaction and it's virtually impossible to reach them; they have sealed all accesses. It's a horribly rigid machine that makes you feel like tiny cog... one wrong move and you'll be squashed. It's just a hostile and human-unfriendly testing environment.

Scheduled two exams for the same day hours apart. The ONLY time I was able to connect, it somehow connected me to 2 proctors. They told me to log off and back in, and I couldn’t get another proctor after hours of waiting. The software and the “IT” are total junk. I can’t believe the MA government has contracted with this useless company. Total sham. UPDATED experience from the end of July, I rescheduled to take the tests in person and that was a much better experience. The testing staff was very helpful and the process was fast and efficient. ProProctor, the online proctor service, doesn’t work at all. If it all possible, take your tests in person it’s much better. Still haven’t heard anything about a refund yet.

Where do you take an exam in Mobile AL? The Hillcrest location is closed and they don't have the website updated or a note on the door.

The online remote Prometric application does NOT work on Mac and I wasted an hour trying to troubleshoot with an agent just to have to find a Windows computer to use in the end. At least she was nice, unlike the proctor who checked me in. She was so impatient and rude to me the entire time. My camera on my laptop is at the bottom of the screen so it's hard to position it to show the seemingly endless check of my environment. Her attitude showed that she thought I was dumb and couldn't do simple things. All in all, it made the testing experience so much more stressful than it had to be. The only reason that I'm giving it two stars is that I had no technical issues after starting the exam.

I've had 2 scheduled tests by Prometric cancelled on me. First was because of "natural elements" and they alerted me 2 weeks prior to my exam (that took months to get a date for). Then, without any help, rescheduled myself for a later date. Showed up to that appointment with the other 50 people scheduled, and they never alerted us that the site was closed for the day. Took 2 hours to get ahold of someone from Prometric to even alert us that the site was closed. This organization needs to be expanded to handle the amount of people they serve. Ridiculous. 2 days AFTER my scheduled appointment I received the cancellation email. Thanks Prometric, I noticed.

I finally received my test date, and I was assigned to test at Express training services. My time was 9am I showed up a little before 8:30. My name was taken down as #5 so I was hopeful I may be able to get out with some of my day to spare. Well upon sitting in their waiting area they called four candidates. The facility only had 4 computers and was testing 9 candidates. So I sat waiting, only for them to tell me now they’re moving to clinicals and I’ll take the written exam after. I was assigned to THE LAST group. There were 2 proctors to this test facility which is lacking to support evaluation of 9 candidates. I was lucky I was able to postpone family plans on my ASSIGNED test date, as we don’t get ANY choice in the matter. I was hoping to be done at a relatively decent time in order to attend my family commitment but this tests lack of time management didn’t even allow for that to be a possibility. I’m frustrated as this system does NOT leave space for the candidates life and or needs.

I can't waste much more time on this, given the waste already perpetrated by Prometric. Prometric has established a monopoly with testing. Accordingly, they have no need to respond or be accountable. It is impossible to get in touch with anyone at Prometric. In my case, I had to cancel a test and timely did so. No refund and no response to a refund request. Do not book with Prometric unless you are certain there will be no contingencies warranting accommodation.
