Hello,
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding severe operational disorganization and extended delays at the Philadelphia Prometric testing center today.
My CADC examination was scheduled for 9:00 AM, and it is now past 10:00 AM; over an hour past my appointment time yet I still have not been checked in. Upon arrival, I was explicitly told by the staff member at the check-in desk that I did not need to sign in and that he would call my name. After waiting half an hour, I was then instructed that I did need to sign in, contradicting the initial instruction and causing further delay. I wasn’t checked in until 10:45 AM, adding even more frustration, stress and anxiety.
The two staff members on duty appear entirely untrained and unequipped to manage the center, leaving candidates waiting indefinitely with no clear communication. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable for a high-stakes testing environment. I expect corporate management to audit this location and address these systemic staffing failures immediately.

Be warned - Vouchers that aren't used by expiry date become worthless
Be warned: Prometric has an "expiration" on testing vouchers and they do not provide a refund if an exam is not scheduled in the timeframe. It is like buying a gift card with an expiration, which doesn't make sense, but they probably make a lot of money off of expired vouchers. If not used, they don't provide a service and still keep the money. Be warned.

This is a horrible service
This is a horrible service. For any corporation/school considering subscribing, I strongly advise you to go elsewhere. I had to do the initial check in 6 times because of technical issues on the part of Prometric. Once I finally got into the exam, I got kicked out half way through. With the exception of one, proctors were not helpful, and the tech support is an AI bot which does not respond and tells you to read the articles under FAQs.

Horrible experience with them
I had a horrible experience with this testing process. It took me around 2 hours and 10 attempts just to get my setup to a point where they considered it “acceptable.”
Some of the proctors had very thick accents, which made communication extremely difficult. On top of that, some sessions were disconnected, forcing me to restart the entire test multiple times.
I was also given ridiculous instructions, such as being asked to remove my charging port, which was bolted onto my standing desk, and to switch off my standing desk even though the charging port was connected to it. These requirements were extremely impractical and caused unnecessary frustration and delays.
To make matters worse, my test was paused halfway through. This completely disrupted my concentration and momentum. After spending so much time and effort trying to get through the technical checks, having my test interrupted like that made it extremely difficult to regain focus, and I ultimately failed the test.
Overall, this was an extremely frustrating and stressful experience. The technical requirements, repeated disconnections, communication difficulties, and interruption during the test made the entire process feel unnecessarily difficult and unreasonable.

**Prometric’s interruptions took away…
**Prometric’s interruptions took away my chance to finish my exam**
I am furious about my experience taking the CSI Applied Financial Planning written exam through Prometric. I spent 12 months preparing for it. During the exam, the proctor repeatedly paused me and accused me of cheating whenever I looked to the side at the whiteboard I was using. Each interruption broke my concentration.
With four minutes left, I knew what I needed to write. I had completed one part of the final three-mark question but still had the rest to finish. I also had another three-mark question I had saved for the end, and I needed to review an answer.
Instead, the proctor paused my exam again and required a full room scan. After I completed it, I could not get back into the exam. I repeatedly asked the proctor to restore my access. She told me I could return, but the only thing on my screen was a timed survey, which I could not complete either. My final four minutes were consumed by the scan and my attempts to get back into the exam. I am deeply concerned that I was told I could continue when the exam was no longer available to me.
I lost the opportunity to answer questions worth **five marks**. Those marks could determine whether I pass, and a failed result could delay my certification and career plans. The repeated accusations also affected my concentration throughout the exam.
I feel robbed of the chance to finish and show what I knew. I want Prometric to review the recording and session logs, explain why my exam was replaced by a survey while time remained, and provide a fair remedy for the opportunity I lost.

Dommage, je ne peux pas donner 0 étoiles. J’ai passé mon examen IFIC csi avec Prometric. Jamais je vais réessayer : personnel incompétent, système défaillant, processus instable!

I had an absolutely terrible experience…
I had an absolutely terrible experience with Prometric’s ProProctor remote testing service on September 5, 2026. My professional certification exam was scheduled for 2:30 p.m. I tried approximately eight times to get through the check-in process and never even got to start my exam.
What made this so frustrating was that every time a proctor wanted me to change something in the room, they had to disconnect me. I would make the change, reconnect, and then have to start the entire check-in and security process all over again. Most of the time I would get a different proctor, who would then find something else that needed to be changed.
For my first attempt, I purposely used a room at the school that is literally designed and used for high school students to take proctored exams. I thought this would be the perfect location. Instead, I was told I could not use it because there were multiple computer monitors in the room. Every monitor was turned off, but that didn't matter. The equipment belonged to the school, so obviously I couldn't remove it. I had to find a completely different room and start over.
In the second room, I was told I needed to cover a small window. Fine. But to do that, I had to disconnect, cover the window, reconnect, and go through check-in all over again.
Another proctor told me I needed to unplug the cord from a landline telephone. Again, I followed the instructions, disconnected, unplugged it, came back, and started over.
On another attempt, I sat on hold for about 10 minutes and was then told I needed a second form of ID. At this point, I had already gone through check-in multiple times and nobody else had asked for a second ID. I also could not find this requirement in the candidate information I had been provided.
Then I was told my camera was freezing and that I needed to contact technical support. I contacted them exactly as instructed. They told me to restart my computer and try again, so I did. I restarted everything, logged back in, and started the process all over again. The problems continued. I have fiber-optic internet with excellent upload and download speeds, so I had no reason to believe my internet connection was the problem.
This happened over and over. Connect, go through security, get told something else needed to change, disconnect, fix it, reconnect, and start from the beginning.
After approximately eight attempts, changing rooms, covering a window, unplugging a phone, restarting my computer, contacting technical support, and doing everything I was asked to do, I STILL NEVER GOT TO TAKE MY EXAM.
At some point, it honestly started to feel personal. I understand that security rules are necessary for remote testing, but when I had already complied with one requirement after another and a different issue seemed to appear every single time I reconnected, I couldn't understand what else I was supposed to do. It felt like no matter what I fixed or how closely I followed their instructions, I was not going to be allowed to take the exam.
I was there on time. I was prepared. I followed every instruction they gave me. I did everything I could to make this work.
This was a professional certification exam that I had spent a significant amount of time preparing for. Instead of taking my exam, I spent hours dealing with ProProctor and repeating the same check-in process.
I will not attempt another remote exam through ProProctor. If you have the choice between ProProctor and an in-person testing center, I strongly recommend going in person.
