Thank you for your feedback. In response to several of your concerns: The screen will dim and "sleep" after periods of inactivity, requiring you to press one of the halos to wake it up. It also draws very little power when not in use, so there's no need to physically switch the power off. Unfortunately, the pause feature has always worked that way as a safety feature. Just so you don't accidentally step on a belt that may have been preset at 12mph. If you have any other questions or concerns, please stop back in one of our stores and we'd be more than happy to go through the entire treadmill with you.
