playin guitar now for more then 9 years but gettin started with guitar playin with 3 kids in the back, a fulltime job and so on, it feels like development could show up a little faster; anyway : I made progress, can play some songs, understand the pentatonics mor or less, but what was missing, was the one thing behind which connects it all and brings you to a clear understanding of the fretboard, which then makes you becoming kind of a musician; after finishing now the 4th grade of the caged pathway I can say: wow ... so many light bulb moments ... incredible ... perfect explained by the teachers and the songs are good fun to play too, also you really have got to dig your teeth into them, one last good thing: the course is really structured very clever and even with a short amount of time daily, it`s possible to practice regularly, so: go for it .... it`s worth it

Back in the day, Business schools used to talk a lot about a Learning Organization - meaning that they are continuing to improve by learning from their past. Pickup Music strikes me as that type of organization. They are big into feedback. Their business model begins with trying to meet the needs of their students, clients, customers, whatever we are to be called.Somebody there has obviously studied some learning theory as they have created the perfect length lesson modules. The quality of their technology is excellent. Their instructors are not just a bunch of guitar dudes and dudesses, but are excellent communicators. It is a great program, and a great value. Oh yeah, their business office seems to be on the ball too as I took advantage of a special transition to an annual subscription and the refunds and charges happened just like they promised and timely.

I came back to Pickup Music because I wanted to focus on barre chords, so I can learn the CAGED system from Molly Miller. I was guided to Karl in the Beginning Pathway, and I am having great success. Enjoying myself immensely!

Pickup music is amazing! Love the format and lessons. First thing I do when I get home is go on the website and plug away at the lessons. Laundry can wait I think I’m addicted!

I bought my first guitar at 21. I picked it up and put it down many times, only really getting the cowboy chords down. At 57 I discovered You Tube and made some progress. You Tube is incredible but its all over the place. I took at lesson or two at a big box guitar store from a young guy with a music degree, but like a lot of the young guys on you tube he was all over the place and too caffeinated. I had seen Dr Molly so I asked my instructor about caged and he really wasn't sure what that was. Then I started lessons with an old rock and roller guy and I did learn a lot but he also did not know about caged and how to teach theory. He just taught me some songs. Pickup has been just what I needed at this point. I have to say that Dr Molly is an incredible teacher and the video production is great. I will share that the first video with Sam kinda threw me because of the accent and the high energy. Overall the program is better than any in person lesson because you can easily go back as much as you need.
