Pickup Music is worth every penny! I started Pickup Music a few months ago after a year and a half of complete self-teaching of finger style and open chord basics. I felt like my rhythm playing was bad, and I wanted to try to learn some other styles of guitar. Seeing that Pickup had a bunch of very structured courses with clear pathways to success made me give it a try. After a couple of months, I’m very confident in my decision to pick up (ha) Pickup Music for a year to really amp up my guitar abilities. I started with a grade of the Country music course, as a fan of Daniel Donato, but decided I needed to brush up on all of the beginner lessons to really flesh out my basic guitar skills before continuing. I tore through the Beginner grades (they were a little too easy), but Late Beginner has given me some appropriate challenges with Rhythm playing. It has been a blast learning the easy covers of songs and having someone go “Oh, is that (X Song)?” while just strumming along to an exercise is extremely gratifying. Makes you feel like a real guitar player.

So far I kept myself busy with the CAGED learning pathway. I is a whole lot of fun and I play almost everyday for at least an hour. Going through some of the matrials and afterwards trying to implement the learned skills into my own improvisation. Highly recommend!

The Beginner Learning Pathway has been great so far. I have only completed the first three grades on this learning pathway but having something to work on everyday has keep me motivated to pick up the guitar and play. Even on a day when I feel I don't have the time, I know there is a lesson waiting and all I have to do is play for a least ten minutes. Often, those ten minutes turn into thirty minutes but that may just be me. Either way, if you are thinking about picking up a guitar and starting this wonderful journey, I would definitely suggest giving Pickup Music a try.

I've only been a member for a few weeks now but I have found it to be an incredibly helpful system. As a parent of a toddler, with a career, who is in a band, my practice time changes from day to day. Being able to jump on and complete a lesson without searching for the next step or wading through thousands of YouTube videos has saved me time and kept me focused. Everyone that I have interacted with has been supportive and encouraging. I would highly recommend Pickup Music to anyone, especially people that are busy and would benefit from some directed guidance.

I haven’t been using pick-up music for too long but I am impressed with it so far. I like the interactive feel and that the grades are broken down into sections for clear progression, or if you only have 10 minutes to practice. Having the lesson, playing along, and then playing with a backing track is a great way for me to learn and feels like solid learning as tempo and timing can often feel overlooked.

Super clear programm with lots of well explained important basics

I have really enjoyed my experience so far on the caged pathway. A good variety of instruction and exercises has made a real difference to my playing in a short time. The jam sessions are particularly good at cementing the concepts in for me. I have tried a few different online courses - but I have to say that Pickup is working for me. I’m really looking forward to working through some of the other courses once I have really built confidence in caged. Thank you
