I am still learning. I hope to give a more thorough comment after I am more acquainted. I am happy enough to have already purchased two more. I use this one for the dogs and will another for the cats in a different area. I plan also to use the third for another view of the dogs.

I purchased an original Petcube and was super excited when there was an auto laser feature introduced. It worked great at first, then a later update caused the laser to respond very infrequently. The video quality also was not great, which was a major decision in purchasing the new one. The video quality of my new Petcube Play is great. However, the laser feature almost never goes off. I know that it responds to a lot motion, however, I have been dancing in front of the camera, close and far away, and it just doesn’t go off. If I wanted a regular webcam, I could’ve bought one, cheaper. I really wish there was an option to turn on the laser automatically at intervals of every half hour or fifteen minutes. Right now, there is no rhyme or reason to the auto laser, and I feel like this is more software related because it happened to both my old Petcube and my new Petcube Play. I would love to update the firmware to potentially increase the quality of the device, however, in order to do so, you need to call the company to initiate a firmware update. Just why? Another frustration I’ve had is that there are advertisements within the app. Full screen ads that you have to close, which show up intermittently. If I paid for the hardware, I shouldn’t be getting ads in the app. I have it set in iTunes and App Store to disable in app purchase notifications, but they still appear regardless.

I gave the Petcube to my boyfriend for Christmas for his new puppy. It lasted one day. It stopped dispensing treats. He tried messaging PetCube with no answer and so I did on the 29th of December and I have yet to receive a replay. Great concept poor product quality and customer service.

Initially had difficulty connecting my Petcube to my home WiFi. Customer service is very responsive and offered multiple suggestions. After realizing that my wireless router had not been updated for seven years, I updated it to Google WiFi (I highly recommend), and had no trouble connecting the Petcube and now it works flawlessly. Petcube is a quality product and backed by great customer support! Thanks!

I love having the ability to keep an eye on my pup when I'm not home. I've had a little trouble with getting the laser to work consistently, and have to reset it every once in a while to get it working again. That said, everything else works like a dream and the night vision is AWESOME!

The food falls irregularly and sometimes he does not give out any treat. In addition, all the crumbs of food are sent to the ground. The image of the camera distorts reality with its exaggerated wide angle. I do not recommend Petcube Bites
