I wish I could give 0 stars. I’ve used this company for over 6 months and I was told by one of their vet to take my dog to the emergency clinic. Therefore, I went and missed work. I paid this clinic using the money I had for my rent. Only to wait almost a month for the response to come back declined. GUYS DO NOT EVEN TRY to APPEAL. They will not listen and will try to make you think it’s your fault for not taking your dog in sooner. PLEASE STAY AWAY from this company I wish I did. They are a SCAM and will NEVER PAY FOR YOUR EMERGENCIES. STAY AWAY!

My dog suddenly started defecating a substantial amount of blood in his stool, had abdominal distension and showed severe discomfort when pressure was applied to his abdomen. I didn’t schedule a meeting with Pawp as I was obviously very concerned and ran him to the vet immediately. According to them that’s “not a life-threatening emergency”. According to the actual vets however, that was indeed the recommended course of action as a severe blockages via unknown foreign bodies can potential cause punctures to intestinal tracts and result in sepsis. All of that considered, they still reject it. Company is only out to take as much money as possible and deny any claim possible. HIGHLY recommend switching to actual monthly pet insurance to avoid the callous, toxic attitude exhibited by this company. EDIT: Would also to make it clear that Pawp specifically says that even though the symptoms my dog exhibited may have constituted an emergency, they won’t cover it because it turned out he was okay. That is to say, even though it was impossible to determine that before consulting a Vet, they still don’t care and reject it. Further, if your dog experiences a list of injuries such as a closed fracture, even though it requires emergency intervention and potentially surgery, it isn’t covered under their “emergency” fund. The icing on the cake is that they say their “ Rules & Regulations exist so we may provide all of our members with equal access to care and financial security, which means we are unable to make any exceptions.” Which reads as- we make money from rejecting as many claims as possible.

I received a free years subscription with Walmart + and decided to add the Protection Plan. Best decision ever! Two months later my lab puppy got aspiration pneumonia from trying to eat a sprinkler stream (yes lab puppies are dumb) I chatted with the online app. They recommended I take her to my vet. $1400 later we were on our way home. I submitted the necessary paperwork to Pawp and in a week the deposited the money in my checking account. Definitely worth it. A the best thing about the $3,000 on the policy is that you can use it on any dog or pet you have in the app so it covers all your pets for $14 a month.

This app is Useless and a waste of time and money!!!!! Do NOT buy this app!! They can not diagnose or write prescriptions for your pet. So pretty you have to pay to have someone say, "That's is concerning, you should take them to a vet!" Do NOT buy this app!!!!

My dog had a rash covering pretty much her whole body and diarrhea. The vet first said to monitor her symptoms. I called my normal vet and they said they couldn't get her in for 2 weeks and that I should take her to an animal hospital. We took her to the hospital and she ended up having HGE. They think the rash might have been caused by the same thing that caused the HGE. The bill was $500. I submitted it to the emergency fund and they wouldn't cover it. Said it wasn't an emergency and that I waited 2 days to take her (because she had diarrhea for a couple days, but it got worse on the day we took her). They told me to just monitor her symptoms (on the same day I took her to the vet) then said oh it's not covered because you didn't take her soon enough... Even though it was only about 2 hours after our conversation! I cancelled my account. I don't trust their "vets" or trust that they'll actually let you use the emergency fund.

My dog was bleeding near the eye and it looked like a cut. It was about 7pm and vets were closed, only emergency hospitals were open so it would’ve been expensive to visit and many put us on hold. I remember I had the Pawp subscription. I waited about two minutes for someone to help. I sent a picture and the doctor was responsive and helpful. Turned out it was a pimple that was forming for a while and I remembered my dog was scratching near his ear which the pustule was right next to. Definitely had calm some nerves. We picked up the medication needed and keeping an eye on it for a few days. Recommended app for efficient vet recommendations and saved us from spending few hundred dollars that turned out to be not an emergency.

Save your money. Pawp will not cover your emergency stays even when they tell you to go to a hospital. They find reasons not to pay for your dogs care. They denied mine because they said that I went out of the 8 hour window…. Keep in mind that it was 11pm at night and no animal hospital was open until the following morning. Brought my dog right in, they did emergency tests. I immediately paid for the service. $274.00 and requested Pawp reimburse me since the Maximus amount is up to $3000.00 1x year. They declined to reimburse me because he was in “stable enough condition”. Well my vet thought otherwise as well as the Pawp vet who sent me and made me take my own dogs rectal temperature because she was that concerned. Save yourself the $20.00 month for piece of mind and just pay out of pocket when your dog gets really sick. This is not pet insurance !!!!!!! I wish someone had warned me before I have spent 2 years of monthly subscription to Pawp!

Pawp is bull crap if you ask me. I submitted and re-submitted to Pawp for a misdiagnosis from the first vet to the diagnosis and treatment of the second vet and they wouldn’t cover EITHER visit!!!!! This insurance is crap! I’ve had it for over a year and paid $25/month, for what?!?!?! I could have saved that money monthly and paid my vet myself and that’s what I’ll be doing from now on!!!!! I will NEVER refer family or friends to Pawp as is fraudulent And also they have crappy and unacceptable customer service!!!!
