I ordered my Patron fino about nine months ago and have been very happy with it. It has kept the me cool and stylish in the California sun and in the tropics. The crown height is just under 3.5” at the front and exactly 3.5” at the back, which is perfect for me, and the choice of ribbons was great to have. The head size was right - trust the tape! - and being able to substitute a fabric sweat band for the leather one another really nice option. The reason I take a star off was that the brim size is somewhat random. I ordered “6.1-6.5cm” and the smallest measurement is 6.5mm at the front. The back is similar but the left side is 7.0cm and the right is 7.5cm, which seems an unreasonable variation even for a custom order.

I ordered a Panama hat through Panama Hats Direct last summer and am very happy with my hat. It fits perfectly and the craftsmanship appears to be excellent. After six months of use, there is no visible wear and tear. There was a small mix-up regarding delivery after I ordered the hat but the person at the company with whom I corresponded via email was very responsive and the problem was resolved immediately after I contacted him. I hope this is a hat for life; but, if it is not, I will certainly order through Panama Hats Direct again.

I give my hats fairly hard wear - they are work hats first and foremost, since I work right much outdoors doing garden design, installation, and maintenance. These hold up right well, and keep me protected from the sun with their tight weave. (Dermatologists have noted the hats with approval.) I have been wearing them so long they have become kind of a trade-mark. Excellent product.

Wow. This hat is amazing. It has a full weave as standard and is very tight when holding it up to the sun for maximum protection. The shape is perfect with slightly more at the back to allow for the upward curl but maintain a nice balanced look. I went for the 8cm brim Havana crown. The crown is a nice symmetrical shape that tapers to a low rise at the back that gives that suave look. There is also a peak protector in the "pinch" of the crown which will maintain shape and protect it from wear. It is also finished with a nice leather sweatband and satin lining. Absolutely top class. Quick delivery from Ecuador to UK. Can 100% recommend. Will shop again soon.

As a Panama Hat guy with 40 years of hats on my head, I have bought from the least expensive to the high end hats. The hat from Panama Hats Direct is top of the line in quality and value! And the service I received from Panama Hats Direct is second to none. I strongly recommend Panama Hats Direct!

It is not too hard to be a great company when everything goes right. In my case, there were complications with fit. Maybe a communication issue. But Panama Hats performed well, correcting the issue with what was probably more effort than they planned on, and more time than I planned on, but without complaint and with decent explanation. Their product quality is just excellent, their prices are great, and customer service is quite good. I could do better maybe if I traveled to Ecuador, and I would love to go there again, but until then, buy from Panama Hats Direct!

Overall a very satisfying experience, the Hat is beautiful fits perfect (I used the included paper measuring tape, worked wonderfully but read the instructions - no-scaling!) and is as pictured. Communications were seamless and responses were received within a day or two max, no languages issues or hassle with management, they were professional throughout. Excellent recommendation and would buy again without hesitation. Expect shipping delays- nothing that PHD had any control over, took two months to arrive. Worth the wait!!
