This product is a huge con. The sock left a huge red blister on my baby the first and only time I used it. The video monitor stopped working after 12 months. At the pricey end of the market at £399.99, it's overpriced and the technology very poor. Avoid at all cost!!! I'm also thinking of reporting this company to my local Trading Standards due to its poor product standards.

Die Smart Sock ist das Geld nicht Wert
Nachtrag Februar 2025:

This rarely connects for us
This rarely connects for us. We finally manage to get it to connect at home but any time we try to take it away with us it stops working. It also appears to work better/connect with Android phones over Apple. Would not recommend but if you finally get it to working it does the job okay.

Temperamental, expensive and anxiety inducing!
Honestly for the amount of money this costs I’m shocked at how faulty and temperamental it is! I put it on as per the instructions every night, it’s securely fastened and in the correct position and the yellow placement alarm goes off all the time!! When I tell you I’ve asked multiple family members and friends to check it I’m not lying! All agree that it’s perfectly placed, and it seems I’m not the only person with this problem. Also when I go on the app it takes ages to tell me her readings, which isn’t very helpful. The only reason I’ve given two stars is because on the rare occasion that it works without the yellow alarm continuously going off it is quite reassuring and it’s helpful to track their sleep. However, for my next baby I’ll be looking at alternatives, feel like I spent an extortionate amount of money on a prototype/work-in-progress! Lastly, I feel icky that it’s so expensive considering this device is marketed as something that saves lives. It feels a bit disingenuous when you’re basically costing out a large % of parents, probably parents that need it the most (according to statistics), if it was £150 a lot more people could afford, and considering it’s far from perfect I think that’s more than reasonable. It just feels like the company is preying on anxious mums, but selling them a product that in my experience has only increased my anxiety.

Support ist die reinste Katastrophe
Support ist die reinste Katastrophe. Vitalwerte werden nachts nicht komplett aufgezeichnet. Und man bekommt keine Hilfe.

Don’t waste your money
Don’t waste your money. I’ve had it for 1month and done everything customer and tech have told me to do! Final straw was I rang up an independent IT wizard to come to my house! I’ve the fastest internet available, the base station was sitting on the main hub also next to baby so very strong signal. They changed the channel so it’s not interfering with any other devices and the camera and sock still have issues connecting to app. The IT wizard said the product is a good idea however the hardware is terrible and the product just isn’t quite there yet!

Useless.
We originally bought the Owlet monitor for my sister after the heartbreaking loss of her first baby due to a heart defect. To ease her mind during her second pregnancy, we purchased this £400 foot alarm, hoping it would provide her with some peace of mind. However, she ended up not using it, as she didn’t trust it, so we decided to use it for our newborn son to alleviate our own fears—especially with the lingering trauma of my sisters first baby’s death.
Our situation was unique: my husband and I had our son through surrogacy. As a gay male couple, having one baby was a miracle for us, so we wanted to take every precaution to ensure his safety, particularly given our fears of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). We’ve used the Owlet every single day for nearly a year since his birth.
To say I regret ever purchasing it is an understatement.
In the beginning, we followed the instructions carefully, using the Owlet 24/7, only removing it occasionally for charging. The first false alarm, which indicated low oxygen levels, was terrifying. We rushed to check on our baby, even consulting nurses to see if it was a real emergency. It turned out to be a false alarm, but that experience repeated itself many times in the first few months. Our anxiety grew to the point where we took shifts to stay awake and monitor him 24/7 for the first month. Eventually, we limited the use of the monitor to nighttime only.
In addition to the frequent false alarms, the biggest issue we faced was connectivity. Despite having excellent internet and placing the Owlet’s base station just a few meters from where our son slept, the connection would drop constantly—sometimes for over 10 minutes. We would sit there anxiously staring at the screen, waiting for it to reconnect, even zooming in on the baby monitor to check his breathing ourselves. Any slight movement of his foot would cause the monitor to disconnect, triggering yet another wave of anxiety. This happened daily for nearly a year. (To add, our mobile phones would have perfect full signal on the other side of the house, but the owlet base station would struggle to keep a single meters away.)
The Owlet is designed to provide peace of mind and reduce stress for parents, but for us, it did the exact opposite. It heightened our anxiety and caused countless sleepless nights. Although we continue to use it—because something feels better than nothing—I look forward to the day when I can finally smash the device with a sledgehammer.
I would strongly recommend looking into alternative solutions. But if the Owlet is your only option, know that while it’s better than nothing, it’s far from perfect.

Causes more anxiety with false alarms
Bought owlet sock while pregnant with my first baby as seen on TikTok that it was a great device to “prevent SIDS” only to learn that it does not prevent it..
However baby was born prematurely so wanted to start using it asap. Base takes forever to reconnect to sock when checking the app.
One night (maybe fifth night of using it) I woke up to my baby crying for her bottle around 4:30am. As I was changing her before her feed I checked the app just to see how she got on with her sleep only for the base to start ringing out the emergency alarm (she was fine, breathing etc) I turned off the alarm and checked the app and said her oxygen levels had dropped to 69% at 2:15am!! Anything under 80% is dangerous and I had never had that before. I also noticed the sock had disconnected to the base around her same time however the sock was on her foot correctly.
In case of an emergency it should have told me straight away but only told me once I checked the app?? Does that not defeat the purpose of the whole product? The rest of that night and the next week I could not sleep it caused more anxiety than it was worth! Definitely avoid this product. Disconnecting and false alarms telling me two hours after oxygen levels had apparently dropped? Not happy.
