horrid is the only word that describes Optum. My doctor has sent in my prescriptions three times and received a confirmation that they were received. They never show up on their web site and eventually I get a message that the prescriptions (which their customer service says they never received) are being cancelled because the doctor has not responded. I’ve called three separate times begging for help only to be told they are unable to do anything and the doctor is lying. Right, my doctor of 30 years is faking the confirmation message. This is a fraudulent company that should be investigated immediately. Their customer service people are rude, barely speak English, and can often be hard to hear over the chickens in the background (not kidding).

If I could put Zero I would...I would…
If I could put Zero I would...I would not suggest this program at all.
My husband and I both signed up for this program because we thought it would cheaper and easier WRONG... first thing they did was fill my meds that did not need to be refilled, they were more expensive..they were suppose to notify me before they were filled and there was no communication with them at all..They messed up my husbands so bad he and his dr are still fighting with the insurance trying to get it all cleared up and this has been going on for 4 months.
So please do your research....AGAIN I WOULD NOT SUGGEST THIS COMPANY...REMEMBER IF I COULD HAVE GIVEN THEM A ZERO I WOULD..

The Couldn't Care Less Healthcare Service
If you want a large, uncaring, bureaucratic, profit-focused entity inserted between you and your doctor, this is the healthcare service for you. There is absolutely no way to actually call your doctor's office directly; the number you used to call before Optum took over has been absorbed into their system, and it no longer rings at the doctor's office. Instead, you enter a phone system of menu options, none of which will lead you to a live person
I didn't get test results from a biopsy for over two weeks after the procedure, and couldn't get through to the office, and now I am trying to get a second opinion with another doctor, but the office won't send the medical records. They said the fax machine is broken? That was a week ago, still trying.
Patient care is not what Optum is about.

Refusing chemotherapy to patients... good job!
This is the worst pharmacy ever... I had 2 questions... is my rx ready? And how much is my copay? 4 people could not give me an answer. Its been 3 weeks since I have been trying to get my chemotherapy... they just won't. They lie... intentionally. What they are doing is so wrong. Optum = united Healthcare. Boo 👎 👎 👎 👎

OPTUM Rx Engages in Deceptive Consumer Practices
OPTUM Rx engages in deceptive consumer practices. They sent me an email this morning soliciting me to approve a refill of one of the medications I order regularly through them. I selected a button in the email that said “refill now” and went through a series of screens required to process the order. One of the last screens summarized the order as having a copay of $0.00, with standard shipping fee of $0.00 (I have a screengrab of it). I OK’d the order and tried to submit it but was instructed that I must first select a payment method. It seemed superfluous, considering that OPTUM indicated my balance was $0.00. But in my experience, online forms sometimes need all the values filled in, so I selected a credit card on file and submitted the form. Immediately, I received a confirmation message saying I would be charged $27.28!
Immediately, I called the members’ number on the back of my United HealthCare card. I then spent 44 minutes talking to 7 different people on at least two continents, only to be told by the last rep I spoke with, Caandra, that I was the one at fault for failing to interpret correctly some parenthetical information on one of the screens. I gave her my position, that OPTUM Rx was engaging in a deceptive consumer practice in the way the online process gave the clear impression that there would be no copay and no shipping, only informing me of a cost after obtaining my credit card info. and my final approval for the order. In the interest of settling the matter, I offered to forget the whole thing for an apology and an account credit equal to the late-revealed copay. The response was an emphatic “no”. I let Caandra know that I would pursue the matter outside OPTUM Rx. She raised no objection. I have already filed a detailed complaint with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.

Terrible customer service
I called three times and each time I got a different answer. I tried to speak to a supervisor, and I was put on hold for hours.
All I wanted is a list of alternatives to a drug that my plan no longer covers.
One guy gave me a website that did not work; another guy had such a heavy accent that I could not understand him. The third representative was the worst, and started talking about payment plans.
Come one it is not that tough.
TERRIBLE COMPANY

OPTUM RX/UHC THINKS I AM AN EXPERIMENT
I have OPTUM RX through UHC for the first time beginning Jan. 1, 2025. I am going to cancel this policy on Jan. 15, 2025 and return to BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD, the best of the best! OPTUM RX has denied two appeals from my doctor for a prescription I have been taking previously and decided for themselves that I need to take a different medication and if that does not work then they will reconsider what does work. How nice of them, right? NOT. I am not their medical experiment and will not be! OPTUM RX does not have the care of their patients at hand. ALSO I ALSO APPEALED THE DENIALS!!!
