1. terrible auto menu process when trying to get to needed help over the phone
2. emails sent with links that do not work
3. let me add, after dealing with a poor automated online help system, and waiting for assistance, I was then told I would be responded to with a wait time "less than 15 minutes", which I was told several times while waiting

Citibank is the cruelest financial institution
Citibank is the cruelest most inhumane financial institution. Despite being open and honest with them about my cancer diagnosis, the'd rather pay their billionaire law buddies to harass, sue and go as far as to garnish my wages. My advice, do your banking with small community banks, boycott the whole lot of them.

After canceling my card due to fraud
After canceling my card due to fraud, Citi issued me a new card number — and somehow scammers got that number too, resulting in yet more unauthorized charges on a account that should have been protected. When I called to resolve it, I was transferred multiple times, disconnected, and spent over two hours on hold with no real solutions. To add insult to injury, when I requested older statements, their system was down but not one representative bothered to tell me that — they just kept sending me in circles telling me to look online, wasting even more of my time. Citi failed me at every level: security, customer service, and basic transparency.

If I could give less than a one star
If I could give less than a one star, I would
My husband made an error on Bill pay we tried to cancel right away, but couldn’t
And Costco Citibank was I would say a scam they took yes $23,000 out of our account. We try to get our bank involved in the three-way they still wouldn’t accept the banks OK and it took three weeks to get our money back and they wouldn’t even transferred in Door account. They sent a thin paper check in the mail. If you use Costco Citibank for any big purchases I would be so leery they are awful. I spent hours trying to get it straightened out and even Costco manager tried to contact Citibank and they were awful. I can’t tell you how scam they are. We pay our bills on time never late and this was an error and they cost Us so much energy and mental anguish.

Avoid CITI
First advice, stay away from them by all means. They ignore your issues and sad when you have been with them for a long period. They refused to drop a $30.00 fee on an checking account that was switching to a new checking account because of a merging and a new Routing Account was not available. I tried to email the CEO with a citi.com and citigroup.com and both emails were returned undeliverable. Same result on CITI Chat site. They said they could not drop the charge.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
I am a Citi American Airline AAdvantage credit cardholder. I had previously linked my personal bank account to the card through their system and only utilized 2% of my current limit. On Thursday, April 16, 2026, I made a purchase through Delta Airlines for flight tickets for a young man I mentor, who had an opportunity to play professional football. Shortly after the transaction, Citi contacted me via email and text messages to verify the purchase. I also received a notification on their app to call Citi regarding my transactions. I spoke with a representative who informed me that they needed to verify my identity due to fraud concerns. He stated that they would send me a letter to my mailing address, which I could also view online or on the app. The representative advised that the letter would arrive within 24-48 hours and provide further instructions. However, no letter was received online, on the app, or by mail yet 100 hours out. The following day, April 17, 2026, the young man was flagged as fraudulent by Delta Airlines, allegedly due to Citi's system. He was stopped at the airport and removed from the plane. I contacted Citi regarding their actions and requested to speak with a supervisor. A supervisor named Alex in the fraud department displayed a lack of concern and denied that Citi had contacted Delta Airlines. I requested Alex to file a formal complaint regarding the incident. Delta Airlines subsequently refunded the amount back to my Citi card account. The supervisor refused to provide me with information about their policies. I found Citi's customer service to be subpar.

Absolutely awful
Absolutely awful. You'll spend an hour getting transferred 5 times to the wrong agents, with each one verifying yet again all of your basic info. And their website keeps having 'technical issues' and their chat says it can't be used with my account.

Citi Travel is the WORST
Citi Travel is the WORST! if you ever need to change or cancel a flight you will spend an hour on the phone to have them say no every time and take your money and/or thank you points! I would use any other option you have.
