OMTechReviews of omtech.com

The machine arrived in good shape. Only 1 very basic set up Manuel. Lacks detailed instructions or anything to assist getting its functional. I've purchased a wooden shelf unit with a 26 page instruction Manuel Limited resources available tech line is a not very responsive, face book has been my best resources. I only pray I can complete just 1 project simular to all your online advertisements. A template site would be great, info on the upgraded mother board would be helpful also.

Ordered for a high school classroom engineering class. I have experience with Epilog which is well documented on settings for different materials and generally have small fluctuations in the epilog settings. The OmTech has been a headache. The documentation is contradicting and worthless. The physical manual claims that I should be firing the 100 watt laser at max power while the online manual claims something different, which contradicts what a friend of mine was told during a paid for webinar they did with OmTech. The base software (RDWorks) was atrocious, so we ended up spending more money on LightBurn. We've had our Epilog for over 12 years and the software that came with it was phenomenally easy to learn along with the documentation that came with it. It's making me wish we spent the extra money on something we're already familiar with, but at the savings we had, I guess I can't complain too much. Hence, the 2 stars

My order arrived very quickly and was packaged well, all items were accounted for, but after connecting the exhaust and water pump, the laser itself would not turn on. I have been calling for days and listening to an automated voice tell me after 2 minutes of waiting that no one is available to take my call, I should leave a voicemail for someone to call me back. No one has called yet, getting frustrated

The printer came in and worked fine. Getting Lightburn software through them however has been unsuccessful. I bought the software download key from their site and waited for the email key to arrive. After a few days I emailed to see where it was and got no response. Then filed a service ticket through their site and still no response. Update 1/20/2022: Still haven't received a Lightburn software key. Please let me know how to go about getting this addressed.

Received the machine in May, it is September now, and I am still not ready to use it. Part of the reason is I needed to run USB booster and ethernet cables, a dedicated 120V circuit and a booster vent system. The issue I am having now is setting up the laser. There are 2 Y-axis gantries. They were not parallel. I needed to shim the rear of the left gantry frame 1/8" (3mm). The mirror locations were so far off that you could not align them. The mirrors mounts had to be moved quite a distance before they could start to be aligned. The laser tube mount has no vertical adjustments. I had to make shims to raise the laser tube 3/8"(9 mm). The bed needs to be in a parallel plane to the movement of the lens head. My bed is not in a parallel plane. Now that I have the X & Y-axis gantries perfectly level I need to adjust the bed to raise and lower perfectly level. This takes a very special spanner wrench. I think I may need to make this wrench. I now view this as a laser kit that was poorly assembled for shipping. I have to check every part for accuracy of installation, realign everything and probably calibrate everything. I hope the electronics is okay since I can only manage the mechanical part.

Emailing Support has been one of the worst experiences. I get replies in the middle of the night and or responses a full 24 hours later with little to no help on the question i had asked. As trying to Load up on Omtech Tech here at my business i'm concerned about 24 hr response times.

If you have a warranty, and it takes 3-4 weeks to get a replacement tube, the service is no good. We realize OM Tech is the seller, but the manufacturers being utilized is about 80% of the problem. We did not spend $6300+ to have this machine as a hobby. It’s for a business, and 3-4 weeks down time is unacceptable. I don’t lay all the blame on OM Tech but their vendors reflect on them

I am struggling with the setup. I was told there is a 45 minute help session but I don't know how to book the free session. There are things that seem off with the machine and I would love it if there was better documentation with the machine. If you would like to contact me feel free
