Olaplex destroyed my hair. They have marketed this as the most fantastic product, but it is just the worst product. The product is so bad, paying over 100, and it's destroyed my naturally curly hair. I've realised that this happens to many who share the same problems on the Sephora community website

This treatment saved my hair after a keratin treatment gone wrong
I never leave product reviews like this but I had to, because I think many women experience a dreadful hair treatment that leaves their hair damaged at least once in their lives - and whilst with some you can just have a cut and be done with it...with the keratin treatment I had severe damage not just to the ends, but the entire length of my hair....Honestly? Aside from a flat look, which I couldn't revive with any volumising product, I just thought there was really no way to get my hair back to normal...so I gave Olaplex a go. At first I bought No.3 and stayed for 4 hours with it on my hair (it does say 10 minutes, but you can stay more), then I saw some results, but I thought to take it one step further and used No.0 and 3 together....and wow, my hair is back to normal, all the split ends and literally burnt strands are back to normal aside from just a few that I simply think can't be salvaged. So yes, buy it, it is pricey but it does what it says on the tin!

Stay away if black or mixed race!
Hello
Thank you for not reading my initial email properly. I am well aware that Olaplex no 3 is not a conditioner, as a mixed race woman I do all I can to follow instructions and take heed of the “how to apply and use” procedures. Please do not patronize me! You say that this is great for all hair types and I tried to find as much background information as possible for olaplex on mixed and afro hair, not provided on your site may I add, and it was hard to find any reliable sources.
I will be posting this email publicly because as a woman of coulor I find it so tiring and infuriating that brands like yours claim their products work for “all hair types” without really taking into account the huge difference between afro and Caucasian or Asian hair types. To tell me that it is not a conditioner is to insult my intelligence as a well versed natural afro hair woman, I rely on moisture, you think I wouldn’t have researched or read that? I used your product as stated; I did a light shampoo, applied the product, let it sit for 90 mins, then shampooed again and DEEP conditioned for 2 hours. The result, hair that I couldn’t move my fingers through due to it becoming so brittle and fragile. It tangled painfully and snapped mid shaft, never mind the ends. It was in far better condition before I used it and don’t even mention my shampoo or conditioner because I have used them for time and they have never caused that to happen!
Can you please state clearly what you mean when you say hair restorer?? Have you done tests on afro and mixed hair and what were the results? My hair hasn’t been colour treated in over 15 years, flat ironed in over 3, relaxed in over 10 and I get this as a result?? You can shove your £26 where the sun doesn’t shine.
I’m sick of companies like yours claiming that their products do wonders for “everyone” and forgetting that black people are part of the “everyone”.

Olaplex 6 smells like sweet nicotine
Olaplex 6 smells like sweet nicotine, as if I've been in a Smokey club. Rather than shine it ends up Matt.
Not sure about the hype. Using 1,2, 3. Those are great and don’t smell awful. :)

Hair fell out
I’ve been using the shampoo and conditioner for about 2 months on bleached hair…. My hair is not damaged but I thought I’d try this as everyone seems to love it. But I’ve noticed my hair has been falling out alot like ALOT. Nervous brushing my hair. So I made an appointment at the drs for a blood test came back fine. So I can only think this is causing a problem. Also it made my scalp itchy and flakey and I agree with the reviews about it makes your hair kind of rubbery aswell. Oh welllll. Stick to redken.

My experience has been mixed
My experience has been mixed. At first I applied for about 15-20 minutes and had a reasonably good result(number3). I then applied overnight and my hair was just awful when I washed the product out. I lost a lot of hair towards the ends and my hair was straggly, lifeless and really thin at the ends . I am very dubious about the hype at this point - there just seem to be too many negative stories coming out....
