I received a postcard that my subscription would be automatically renewed unless I canceled before 1/31/2024. I requested they cancel my subscription on 1/2/2024 via email, but they refused, saying "Although you requested we cancel your gift subscription, the account is paid in full for future copies. Service will continue until their expiration date of April 2024." What a scam. Refuting with my credit card company.

Terrible customer service… noone answers the phone or replies to emails! All i wanted to do was change my address… i have missed 2 issues so far!!

Paid for 6 month subscription to National Geographic Kids for my grandson. Was surprised to see on the invoice it said "auto-renewal" which I did not want. Tried twice to phone - only got "very busy" message; sent two emails - no response.

I received the National Geographic magazine for over 40 years. I thought that made me a member of the society. So it stated on the card I received from them with each renewal. But not so. I appears the society set up a relationship with News Corp which they didn't bother to tell the magazine subscribers. This relationship was for profit with the society owning only 27%. When part of News Corp was sold to Disney then Disney became a 73% owner. Until 2015, the magazine was completely owned and managed by the National Geographic Society. Since 2019, controlling interest has been held by The Walt Disney Company. Over the years the magazine went into a slow decline and I often debated whether to renew. Then to my surprise I found out that Disney owned 73% of just about everything including the famed magazine. I stopped subscribing. I don't know how the 'society' can be non-profit when it is in a giant for profit group. Recently I learned that they laid off all their writers and possibly in 2024 they will no longer sell the magazine in stores. "The latest round of layoffs at the magazine cut 17 editorial positions, including all of the publication’s staff writers, its entire podcast staff, and a group of editors, including one who’d been on staff for nearly 40 years, a former staffer affected by the layoffs told CNN". It was in CNN Business Also the date of experience block below will not let me pick the date I did not renew which was in 2020 so I picked today's date which is not accurate.

Dear CEO and others, Your information is very reliable, isn't it? I guess all you think about Africa is that they have no food and no water and they're poor awww so sad. but no, you guys don't have a big enough brain to understand the beauty of Africa, at least explain that and quit the stupidity.

The magazines were a gift to my daughter. Now that she's a grown up it took me ages to cancel my 10 year-subscription, with threats of an 'incasso'bureau. Can you f**king believe that arrogance and distrust after 10 years of flawless payments ... Shame on you National Geographic.

National Geographic Digital … For a magazine of such standing, I am sorry to say that their digital version service is atrocious ! I have a paid membership which does not allow me to read any articles which are emailed to me on a daily basis. I have tried every single path, to read the articles, to no avail. A total waste of money!!
