I have a RV loan through M&T and I pay online. It literally takes 4 days for them to process the payment. 4 DAYS!!! ONLINE!! Even if you schedule it ahead of time, 4 DAYS like it's 1980 and I wrote a check.

I had a loan through M&T Bank and, after years of diligent saving, was finally in a position to pay it off early. However, the bank made it intentionally impossible for me to do so. Every attempt I made to settle the balance was met with roadblocks, evasive customer service, and bureaucratic red tape designed to keep me trapped in debt. It wasn’t until I involved a lawyer that I discovered the real reason behind their tactics—hidden in the fine print was a staggering $20,000 early payment penalty. This was never made clear at the outset, and their representatives conveniently failed to mention it when I inquired about my payoff amount. M&T Bank’s predatory lending practices are nothing short of deceitful. They actively punish responsible borrowers who try to pay off their debts. If you value transparency, fairness, and financial freedom, steer clear of this bank!

I wanted to twrite a review and I was shocked and to be honest, mortified by the negative reviews. I call the home owners assistance center to pay my installments. I just like the face to face service still. I spoke with a home owners assistance specialist by the name of Robert. Last names should be a secret. Now M@T have helped me in the past when the chips were down and I should have written one then. I just want to go on record that Robert received me wth such a warm greeting and I know these questions can be cumbersome and customers get impatient, but Robert was beyond kind and courteous. Definitely the worst major bank out there. Just tried to open a basic checking account and had to close it after 6 days. Their hyperactive fraud protection will lock you out of your own account 50% of the time. I couldn't even fund my new account as any attempts at an EFT failed and resulted in more calls to their customer service depts. These departments are busy for a reason, as 'incompetent' is the nicest word I can use to describe them. I'm sorry I never really checked reviews as I wasted a ton of time in one week for the net result of closing my account before I could even fund it.

M&T bank is a low quality, outdated with technology, old fashion bank. their customer service is completely absent to assist the customer properly. their policies are so strict that forgets the etiquettes to properly serve their customers, I wish I could place -1000000000 as their ratings and I wish i had never done business with them. If you want to have a million to none service do business with them. I will never use them again.

Just needed help with my Zelle profile. I will be closing this account and opening with chase or citizens. Gave me the runaround all morning.

Deserves less than 1 star. Very deceptive in their interest that they charge for a camper loan. I would rather put my camper payment on a credit card than ever use them again. Was told incorrect information about interest charges, so we are closing our account tomorrow and will never, ever use this company for anything.

I have been dealing with customer service for 6 months. They tend to not answer my questions "when" they get back to you, its terribly slow. I have been asking and given numerous different answers on how to make extra payments on my loan. In addition my payment is due by 22 of the month, I have them set up to arrive on the 20th to their office, they did not post until the 25th then had the audacity to tell me my payment was late. We were steered to this Company by a broker. In my opinion after working with many banks. STAY CLEAR BANK SOMEWHERE ELSE.
