Very easy to use
Very easy to use. Easy set up and deposit funds. I've used it many times from markets to regular shops and hotels. Cheaper commission than credit cards and pretty good exchange rates.

It was good while it worked in Thailand, however as of late June they haved paused it for all users except for USA/Canada passport holders, that's too bad so I'm back to using cash and cards.
Response from MoretaSep 28, 2026
Hello Felipe, thank you for the fair review, and we're glad Moreta served you well in Thailand while it was available to you. We understand the disappointment of going back to cash and cards. The good news is that this pause is not permanent. We're working hard to bring Thai QR payments back online for all users soon, and we'd love to have you back when it returns. Keep an eye on the app for updates. The Moreta Pay team

Just another hastily and poorly made tech product. I deposited 30 euros to test it , filled in all the bank details , now when I try to deposit again it just fails each time with the same details , pop ups in app saying the banking details have changed within a day , but then the details are the same and still fails each deposit. If they can't get the simple things right then best just to stay away , highly doubt any money is secure in their badly designed product , and of course no customer support because that would cost them money.

My account has been frozen while I’m traveling in Vietnam, and I currently cannot access the funds I deposited into the account for this trip. I understand that it’s the weekend and that support may take some time to respond, but it’s extremely frustrating to have an account restricted without any immediate way to resolve the issue. I’m only in Vietnam for three days, so having access to these funds is time-sensitive. The only message I’ve received is that someone will get back to me “as soon as possible.” I understand that reviews and account security checks take time, but customers should have a reliable way to regain access to their own deposited funds, particularly when they are traveling internationally. I would really appreciate someone from the support team reviewing my case and unlocking my account as soon as possible.

Have been using this in Vietnam the past 2.5 months and cannot recommend this enough to every foreigner I meet. Simple connect me bank account, load funds and spend via QR code.

Hello, thank you so much for this! Two and a half months of daily use is a proper test, and we're really glad it's held up. Connect, load, scan is exactly how we want it to feel. Thank you as well for recommending us to the foreigners you meet along the way. That word of mouth means everything to us. Enjoy the rest of your time in Vietnam! The Moreta Pay team

Pretty useless if you can’t pay for a bottle of water..it says ‘amount is too low’… what’s the point then if you still need to pay with your card or cash… turned into greedy business after growing their client base that joined them exactly for the convenience they provided initially when we didn’t have to have our cards and cash but not now anymore

Hello, thank you for the feedback, and we're sorry for the frustration. Minimum amounts can differ depending on the payment type and country, so we'd like to look at the exact situation you ran into rather than guess. Please email [email protected] with the email or phone number on your account, referencing this review, and our team will check what happened with that payment and explain exactly what applies in your case. My money just disappeared !! 3 Days ago I saw the reviews about the SEPA deposit issues, but I ignored it as it might be a small single time issue. But I'm here to confirm it! I saw (Instant deposit) awesome right? NO!. I click add money, followed the instruction, transferred the money then...... Nothing, there is no notifications, no updates, just nothing! Of course the first thing to do is to reach for the AMAZING USELESS AI support, but all I got is just AI answers and claims to escalating it to the team which is exactly what other people were facing. So, if you wanna use the app, either use the other payment methods or just find another service to use!

Hello, please don't worry, your money didn't disappear. We've checked and your deposit is now credited to your account. Most bank transfer deposits arrive instantly, but a small portion go through a security review with our banking partner first, and weekend timing pushed yours to the next business day. If you don't see the funds or need anything else, email [email protected] referencing this review and we'll take care of it right away. The Moreta Pay team

I am currently travelling in Vietnam and chose Moreta Pay because I expected to be able to rely on it for payments while abroad. Unfortunately, my experience has been the opposite. On 15 August, I transferred €500 to my Moreta account by SEPA. More than 10 hours later, the money had left my bank account but was still shown as pending by Moreta. Because I urgently needed the funds to pay for a Ha Long Bay cruise, I made another €250 SEPA deposit hoping that one of the transfers would be processed faster. That transfer also remained pending. Because Moreta did not make my transferred money available when I needed it, I was forced to make a more expensive credit-card deposit to get myself out of the situation. This meant paying additional costs simply because the cheaper SEPA funding method was not processed in a reasonable time. Support consisted mainly of an automated bot telling me that my case had been “escalated” and that a human would respond. Despite the urgency, it took several days before I finally received an actual response. Then, on 19 August, I experienced another problem: a payment of 334,000 VND failed despite having approximately 16 million VND available in my account. Moreta later stated that there had been a payment-network problem with their partner in Vietnam. Now, on 24 August, exactly the same SEPA problem has happened again: another transfer has left my bank account but remains pending for hours. And once again, because the money I transferred by SEPA was not available, I had to resort to another more expensive credit-card deposit so that I could continue using the service while travelling. Once again, “support” consists of an automated message saying that the case has been escalated and that a human will take over. I received almost exactly the same message during the previous incident, after which it took several days to get a human response. For a financial service, this is simply not acceptable. My experience so far: - Multiple SEPA deposits remaining pending for many hours or days. - Money already debited from my bank while being unavailable in Moreta. - Having to make more expensive credit-card deposits on multiple occasions because my SEPA money was unavailable. - A payment failing despite more than sufficient balance. - Automated support repeatedly asking for information Moreta already has. - “Escalations” that do not result in timely human support. - No clear explanation why SEPA deposits are sometimes processed quickly and at other times remain stuck for a very long time. What concerns me particularly is the financial consequence of this. SEPA is the cheaper way to fund the account, but when those deposits remain pending while I am abroad and need access to my money, the only practical way out is to deposit again by credit card at a higher cost. I am not claiming that Moreta deliberately delays SEPA transfers to encourage credit-card deposits, because I cannot prove that. However, after repeatedly being put in exactly that situation, I believe it is entirely reasonable to ask Moreta to explain why its SEPA processing is so unreliable and why customers end up having to use the more expensive funding method as a workaround. When a company handles customers’ money, reliability and accessible human support are not optional. Especially when travelling abroad, you need to know that money transferred to your account will actually be available when you need it. Based on my experience during this trip, I cannot recommend relying on Moreta Pay as your primary payment method while travelling. In my case, the service has not only been unreliable but has also directly resulted in additional costs. I will update this review if Moreta resolves the current problem properly, provides a satisfactory explanation for the repeated delays and offers appropriate compensation for the additional costs and inconvenience caused. Update: My latest €250 SEPA deposit provides another concerning example. I initiated it on Sunday 23 August at 22:16 Vietnam time. Moreta only completed the conversion almost 22 hours later, on Monday at 20:16 Vietnam time — approximately 08:16 in Austin, Texas, where Moreta lists its headquarters. The timing makes me seriously question whether these SEPA deposits require manual processing or approval during US business hours. I cannot prove that this is the case, but the pattern is difficult to ignore. Moreta’s own support documentation states that EUR SEPA deposits should “settle in minutes”. In my experience, they have repeatedly taken many hours instead. While waiting, I once again had no practical choice but to fund the account by the more expensive credit-card option.

Hello, thank you for the detailed feedback, and we're sorry for the inconvenience this caused during your travels. We've looked into your transfers. The delays occurred during a standard review step at our partner bank, and weekend timing extended the wait in your case, as these reviews are completed on business days. We're following up with our banking partner on the processing times. We've also credited the additional card fees back to your account, as you shouldn't carry the cost of the workaround. If you'd like to go through anything else, including the failed VND payment, email [email protected] referencing this review and our resolutions team will pick it up directly. The Moreta Pay team
