This is a company that you should not trust
I wanted to order a 60 Watt MOPA Laser to be delivered from their German warehouse. They told me it was not on stock and talked me into ordering a 100 Watt machine which cost around USD 700,-- more, and I agreed because it was important for me to have the shipment out of Germany. Despite this agreement they sent the machine out of China. It was controlled by customs, and I had to pay an additional appr. USD 1.100,-- on taxes. The machine arrived on May 24, 2024, and it was defective. I communicated this to Monport and gave extensive documentation (sample prints) to show that the machine was not working. I was asking for a replacement and they promised me to send me a shipping label to return the defective machine and replace it. Monport also said they would compensate me for the additional costs incurred by having shipped the device from China and not out of Germany which was the reason to buy the more expensive machine. After this nothing happened. They stopped answering my e-mails and despite numerous efforts from my side to contact them resulted in nothing. They just do not respond at all. Now I am sitting on a defective laser machine that cost around USD 6.000,-- plus USD 1.100 on taxes and Monport does not communicate me at all. I will have to cancel the transaction and use PayPal`s customer protection programme to get my money back. The situation has seriously damaged my business. I plan to update this review over time and publish this in detail on youtube to warn other potential customers to buy from this company. Their attitude is not acceptable, and this has caused me severe inconvenience. Update June 21, 2024: Monport has reacted and sent me an e-mail where they promised to expedite the replacement of the machine while it would take some time to send a return label. I will keep you updated of how this works out. Update July 02, 2024: After my review on Trustpilot I actually received e-mails from Monport again after having cut off communication for almost three weeks. They promised a lot but they did not fulfil any of their promises. They missed the dead-line I set them to replace the defective laser machine. So I decided to cancel my order and ask for a refund. If you need a Laser marker for business it is impossible to work with Monport because they are either unwilling or uncapable of offering even the most basic service, and they promise a lot and then they do plainly nothing, leaving you alone with your problems. Update July 08, 2024 Situation unchanged. I am still sitting on a defective laser (for six weeks now). Monport has sent some e-mails, but nothing has happened so far. They have made dozens of promises and they have not fulfilled a single one. I keep asking to receive a refund for the cancelled purchase but nothing is happening. I will have to open a conflict case on PayPal. Update July 12, 2024 I finally got labels for the return of the shipped items which have been picked up today so everything is on its way to Monport`s German logistic center. Communication with Monport or the shipping company (TNT) was difficult but it finally worked out. I am now waiting to be refunded for my purchase and tax costs. Will keep you updated. Update July 17, 2024 The payment for the order of the laser machine has been refunded today. This is a great step forward considering the fact that it is now around 9 weeks ago that I paid for the order, I reported the machine to be defective on May 24 and it took until today to get the refund for this order settled (plus dozens of e-mails and an equivalent of around four full working days dealing with the issue). It is a pity in the sense that the machine (if it had not been damaged during the shipment) would have been perfectly o.k., but I need a laser for business and cannot work with a company that is not in the position to offer the service level you depend on when something goes wrong. The tax issue is still open: I had to pay around USD 1.100,-- in tax because the laser was shipped from China and not from Germany as has been originally agreed. Monport has promised to settle this issue as well. Will keep you updated.
