The original head that was installed was proven that it was faulty. I've had the device one week and already have $90.00 in penalty fees. I'm on disability and receive $853.00 per month. My DWI conviction was 11/01. This proves I've been tucked away & lost in your broken system. Your device shows I've failed with high results, meaning I had cologne, food, cake, hand sanitizer during this pandemic or something that cost me $90.00 it sure wasn't a sip, nip, guzzle or shot. I've been sober almost 20 yrs and I continue to be punished from a charge from 2001. People have been charged with vehicular homicide and have received less of a sentence then what I have endured! Your system is broken in N.C. and as much as cellphones have advanced and technology? Your devices have not at Monitech. Where is all the money going? Because it sure isn't going to advance the equipment that your company offers to the state and the resident offenders of North Carolina. Respectfully, Paul H. Boehm

Rude disrespectful staff/company that should have absolutely NO third party contract with the DMV! Upon entering the small dirty frigid area I’ve noticed multiple people waiting in a 10 x 10 room for assistance. No mask nor Any rules in place in regards to Covid restrictions and policies. Staff has no clue how to manage any thing but smoke marijuana in the background and play loud music. It’s amazing how small businesses can maintain contracts with the ADOT.

I Feel The System Is Not Only Annoying But Outdated... The Testing Every 5-10 Minutes Is Nerve Racking... It’s Not Like Someone’s Gonna Crank Up And Immediately Start Drinking As Soon As They Start Driving... You Test To Start, You Test While Driving And Then Even If You Just Tested A Few Seconds Before, You Have To Test To Get Out Of The Car... This Is Excessive To Say The Least And The Device Is Big, Intrusive And Embarrassing... The System Is Also Very Flawed, Gave Me A Bogus Fail And After Waiting 5 Minutes I Passed, Sometimes I Test Until I’m Almost Out Of Breath And It Will Make Me Test Again, Very Inconvenient And Frustrating... I Understand The Initial Test And I Could See Maybe Every 30 Minutes But The Random Every Few Minutes And The Arrival Test Is Excessive And Unnecessary... Think About It How Many People Could Drink And Sober Up In 15-30 Minutes... I Will End With This, The System Is Disturbing, Distracting And Somewhat Unsafe... Think About It...

We appreciate your feedback and understand your concerns. At Monitech, our employees continuously test our units to understand our consumer's experience and we know that when first installed, the alert for a random retest can be anxiety producing. We use this information and consumer feedback like yours to design devices that take away as much of the stress of using an IID as possible. In response to your specific concern about random retests, state regulations, not the interlock industry, determine the frequency of random retests and the time period in which they must be taken prior to recording the event as a missed test. In most states, users have 5-6 minutes to maneuver their vehicle to a safe location to take the test. We advise pulling over to take your test. In response to your specific concern about failed tests, the IID will register any trace of alcohol from any source containing it - this is how the device effectively ensures an impaired individual is not able to start a vehicle, and how we are able to confidently state the ignition interlock is fulfilling its purpose. Had to have a monitech installed on a brand new 2017 mazda 3. As soon I told the tech the make and model, he said “ugh your the worst, I have never installed a monitech on a newer mazda”. First strike. Second time I could him through the wall on the phone with another person asking how to install it after 5 mins I heard him say to the other person “crap, I blew a fuse!” After that I knocked on the maintenance door and asked him what was going on and he told me that he blew a fuse but said it was “nothing to worry about, it happens all the time.” I was very skeptical and asked for his managers number. Called the number and went to voicemail and no one picked up or called back. A week after, my back up does not work properly! Mind this was a brand new car with no issues. Do not recommend.

I thought this was going to be giving me false readings and stalling my car It’s more the pain of blowing every five, ten or fifteen minutes It should be that if you don’t fail the test you would not re-test for the next half hour or so
