One treatment in...
I have been dealing with anxiety and depression for many years. Although not debilitating, it has been a black cloud that is exhausting and impossible to ignore. I've been taking one ssri or another for more than 20 years with the feeling that the medication makes getting through the days at best, bearable. When I learned about the possible therapeutic benefits of Ketamine, I had reached the point of knowing that my mental health wasn't going to magically get better without my taking responsibility for putting in the work. My experience with Mindbloom has so far been everything it was said to be. I signed up and two days later had completed my first clinical evaluation via Zoom. My clinician wasn't playing games! She listened to my "story" and completely read and responded to my feelings without a bunch of warm and fuzzy fluff. This was new for me from a therapy standpoint as I've often felt that in previous tries at therapy sessions throughout the years, I would end up feeling like the therapist. Her wisdom and ideas regarding my treatment were delivered without sugar coating and I appreciated the fact fact that our 45 minute session evolved into over an hour. When completed, I felt like she gave a damn. Next, my guide choice was made after thoroughly reading the bios of the multitude of various guides available. Wow, did I choose the right one! He has been very consistent... and available. Numerous times he's unexpectedly reached out to check-in and keep me on point. Again, I never felt like I was part of a churn and burn operation... but a client/patient who if I was willing to do the work and follow the process, they're going to be with me every step of the way. My first session was a Ketamine ice-breaker for me. I proceeded with my clear intentions... and was blown away by the experience and outcome. I was able to begin processing feelings that were obviously "there" but smothered over the years with experiential and societal impressions. Today I am one day post treatment and I've already been able to integrate some of the outcomes of my first session. I am looking forward to continuing my journey but know that it's up to ME to do the necessary work to be successful. It's not a magic pill. I don't discount the frustrations of others who have had negative experiences with Mindbloom, this is my own opinion regarding my own experience so far. Bottom line, we're all searching for inner peace and good mental health. Depression and anxiety are exhausting and for some debilitating at times. I don't want to continue using them as a personal crutch to keep from living the life I deserve. It's going to take time and inner work but I personally feel fortunate to have a shot with my Mindbloom experience.
