Don't trust their website pricing!! I checked a hard drive this morning on their website, I went to the Fairfax location to purchase it where I found it went up by almost $60.00 I called and asked why they claim the website need to be refresh and pricing changes all time! I am not buying oil!!

So I bought a used laptop to try and save some money and I took it to micro-center for diag, they took it and charged 55, all is good. They then sit on the computer for a week before doing stuff with it, which is fine I have patience but over text they quoted me 220, I was okay with that number, but the final total I paid was 386 plus the 55 diag, I mentioned how big of a difference that is to the lady checking me out but it seems that’s just what the technician decided, so I didn’t make a huge fuss but still really annoying. There was also someone else there with like 15 grand worth of stuff in a cart having problems with them too.

I recently purchased 2 items at my local store. Neither were as advertised. I do understand that the item descriptions come from their suppliers, but it doesn't seem that anyone verifies any of this info when providing it to customers. One of the items was an inexpensive cell phone to use as a spare. It listed dual 8MP cameras and a 5 MP selfie camera. The dual cameras was a straight up lie. It has one, with the other being an obvious fake "lens" and the quality is at best from the flip phone era. Granted, this was a cheap phone, but the website description as well as the shelf tag claim features that just do not exist on this item. The other item was a networking product that listed compatibility which was also incorrect. Other than that the store is an absolute mess. Products are scattered across multiple aisles. Speaking of aisles, about half of them you have to shimmy sideways through due to the waist high stacks of 3d printer filament running right down the middle of the aisles. I seriously wanted to call a city inspector because of this. But not all is doom and gloom. There was plenty of staff ready to check your items for commission stickers and put theirs on if they didn't find any. I used to really like shopping there, but the store has gone downhill fast.

This review is about the Santa Clara, California location. Initially I would have given this a 5-star review. Everything leading up to and including the Build and Learn was EXCELLENT. However, the after purchase is HORRIBLE. On June 13, 2026, I purchased the parts for my rig and participated in the Build and Learn ($350.00) that Micro Center offers. I wanted the NVIDIA 5090 GPU but they did not have any in stock, so I went with the next best one, the 5080. I have called several times, and yesterday they got a few 5090's in. I started texting the number of the tech that schooled me through my build, inquiring about the 5090 and that it was not on the website to purchase and hold. He told me it was not put on the website because they were concerned about scalpers. Fair enough. I asked for some leniency since I wanted to return my 5080 and purchase the 5090, obviously, I am not scalping. The number I texted was, I'm assuming the tech phone because I had Angel respond. Now I've sent an email to both the Ops manager, who introduced himself to me after my build and the tech. No answer to my emails. Even though 3 weeks ago I spent over $7000.00 on not only my rig but the extended warranties and Priority Care+, and it was obvious I was trading up they would not even hold it overnight. The answers to my text came at a snails pace. I am still within the 30 day return window and I am seriously considering just returning the whole rig if this is the kind of after purchase care I can expect!!

Drove 2 hours to get a bundle and 2 hours back home excited to put it together. Pc doesnt boot up so we try the obvious thing which is unplugging some wires and moving things around but that doesnt work also the motherboard comes with no manual same with everything else that comes with the bundle. It's like they want you to figure it out yourself even though you spent 1300 dollars on it.

So I believe Micro Center is a great store to buy parts, but when it comes to the service of fixing or helping adjust simple fans to my pc, I would never go back to their customer support team. The reason being that I trusted they could help me install some fans and help me with cable management for my pc. As I didn't have time to do so because I was getting ready to deploy for a couple months. Then it turned into the fans not working for one, my mother board shorted out, and continuing to say your pc may not work but if you keep paying for our services, but we are going to continue charging you. So, after paying well over three hundred dollars, I believe it is best for the average or new PC gamer, is to fix your own pc regardless of the situation. As I cannot trust the integrity of Micro Center as I couldn't trust them to help me with a simple task, and now I have to pretty much start all over with a new PC and spend more money. After six months away I wish, I didn't have to write this comment, but I don't want any other person to make the same mistake I did and get abused by the services. I hope Micro Center can learn from their own mistakes and actually help individuals as customers and treat their own PC's as their own, as now I'm going to have to pay thousands more with everything being very expensive in Southern California and across the states. I know they have to meet a certain time limit, and fix it properly, but fix it properly than rushing to complete it.

The extended warranties that they do not cover things like power bricks for your laptop. Warranties do not cover the usual basic things that happen.

I want to start by saying I love this store, the customer service is great and they have every part for a pc that i need or could want and i would give the store itself a 5 star review but I gave it 2 stars because of an experience i had with the PC repair part of the store. In no way shape, or form am i bashing the store or anybody that works there. I recently built a PC for my brother in law this past week but when I finished, the PC wouldnt turn on. i spent 2 days researching and trying different things but nothing was working. I took it to micro center to have it looked at and fixed and they said it would take up to 72 hours to diagnose and fix which was perfectly fine. They got back to me 2 days later saying the CPU cable on the PSU was faulty so i brought another CPU cable up there and let them try it and it still wouldnt turn on. I heard the guy working on it tell his co worker that he tried one of their tester power supplys and the PC turned on but, he came back to us and said we had a bigger problem and they would have to keep it even longer. We bought a new PSU while we were there and asked if we could take the PC home and put the new PSU in and see if that was the problem but he said no, so we asked him if he could test the new PSU since he already had the PC open and ready to plug in a new one but again, he said no. He said no because they were about to close but it was 8:04 and they close at 9 so he still had 56 minutes to test it when it takes not even 5 minutes to plug the PSU cables in and see if it turns on, and at this point we had already made 3 trips down there for that pc when we live over 40 minutes away so it was very aggravating. He said he would keep it and test it first thing in the morning[today] and we spent all day waiting around with no answer so we drove down there to get us both a new wrist rest for our keyboards and when we walked in the store, both techs were sitting in chairs talking and laughing and bullcrapping around and our PC was no where to be seen on the work benches but nobody else was in there getting a PC fixed so i texted them asking how much longer it would be because i wasnt making a 4th trip down here within 3 days to get it and they finally texted me an hour before they close saying they were starting on it but by the time they finish and my drive down there I would not be able to get it today which means it would extend the 72 hours into 4 days and we still have to pay the installation fee for the new PSU. I will continue going to micro center for parts for my PC and accessories but never again will i take a PC there to get repaired and im not telling anyone to not take their PC there to get repaired but ,make sure before you do, if you can fix it at home do it. Dont make the drive and waste the money on them if you dont absolutely have to.
