I dropped my power supply off which I owned and had a news Gaming PC built around it. After eight days I picked the computer up and since we were on vacation in Georgia it took a while to drive back down to Florida and set it up.
Gaming has been a nightmare since I started it up.
SHOCKING FACTS AHEAD.
I payed for the build on April 22, 2025. We were on vacation near Duluth, Georgia so I decided to use MicroCenter in Duluth. After travelling back to Florida I set up the computer and DISCOVERED THE FOLLOWING: The computer is a total mess when it tries to run any games. Witcher 3, Assassin's creed games, GTA V etc. All crashed to desktop or froze.
It is now July 2nd 2025 and the windows EVENT VIEWER reported 2761 errors and warnings since they started the build on April 22, 2025.
I don't believe they are reliable at all and they will probably will deny everything. If I were nasty I would take the event viewer log as court evidence but capitalism has ruined any freedom buyers have regarding their purchases.
I would never go back to microcenter for anything, let alone trust them to build a PC. I believe they knew I was driving back to Florida

Absolutely Horrible Customer Service
Absolutely Horrible Customer Service – Will Never Return
I visited this store for the first time, and thanks to Danny W., it will also be my last. From the moment I asked for help, he was dismissive, disrespectful, and outright contradictory in everything he said. I came in with a simple question, and instead of offering assistance, he made me feel like I was wasting his time. His tone was rude, his attitude unprofessional, and he clearly had zero interest in helping a new customer. It’s beyond me how someone like that is allowed to represent any business. If this is how they treat first-time customers, I’d hate to see how they treat regulars. Stay far away.

I paid $1500 for this MSI laptop and it…
I paid $1500 for this MSI laptop and it was a complete waste of money. It never ran great, not even on day one. It was slow right out of the box. Boot times were long, apps lagged, and the performance never matched the specs they advertised. I thought maybe it needed updates or tweaks but nothing helped.
After three months it got even worse. It started freezing during basic tasks like browsing or watching videos. The fan became insanely loud even when doing nothing. The laptop would heat up just opening normal apps. It felt like I bought a cheap laptop for double the price.
Now after nine months it’s basically useless. I can’t play any games without it overheating or crashing. It opens slow, runs loud, and struggles with everything. I’ve never been this disappointed with a tech product in my life.
MSI really let me down. $1500 for something that performs worse than a $600 laptop. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Avoid this brand completely.

Bought HP Laptop at Micro Center: Not the Best Experience!
I bought an HP laptop, and nothing about it worked right out of the box. I had to reprogram the entire touchpad just to make it usable. There was no one-click right-click, the scrolling was completely broken, and the font size was set to less than 100%, making everything unreadable by default.
I had to dig through settings just to get basic functionality working — things that should’ve been correct on a brand-new computer.
The previous HP laptop I bought had audio issues that made it impossible to use for meetings. Even Microsoft support tried to fix it remotely — it worked temporarily, then broke again. HP’s own support is useless, and their website only gives you “filter drivers” with no actual control panel or customization options.
I bought this from Micro Center, and to make things worse, there’s no way to call the store directly for help. You’re on your own.
This was a complete waste of time and money. Do not buy HP, and don’t expect Micro Center to back you up when the product fails.

MicroCenter is a SCAM
I am never, EVER, getting my computer serviced here again. If I could give negative stars, I would! It took 3 visits and $700 for Micro Center to "repair" my laptop, only for it to fail less than 3 weeks after all of the compinents were finally installed. And now they won't give me a refund for the part that failed. Highway fricking robbery.
In September 2024, my computer started to turn off if it wasn't plugged in. Internal diagnostics said my battery had failed, so I came in with a Dell battery I had purchased and I asked MC to install it--no problem. Only, after the install I was told that my battery was actually working fine and it was a problem with the motherboard. To replace it, I was quoted about $600 in parts and labor. Not great, but.... fine. If it will fix my computer.
I returned the battery to Dell because I was told I didn't need it and saved up for the motherboard replacement. Finally, in February 2025 I was able to come in and have the motherboard replaced. At NO TIME during or after service was I told that MC only stands by its work for 30 DAYS. And also? Oops, after the motherboard was replaced I was told that actually my battery WAS faulty and it needed to be replaced. I called customer service and they told me it would be cheaper for me to buy the battery on my own (again) and have MC install it again rather than having MC order the battery for me. Why? Isn't MC a giant chain store who should be able to get better deals on parts from manufacturers? But whatever, fine. Frustrated but still willing to play ball, I ordered the battery from Dell (again).
My battery, ordered at the beginning of March, took a month to be delivered because of supply issues. Fine. During that month I never turned on my computer or plugged it in, because I don't know anything about computers and I didn't want to risk frying anything with a faulty battery still installed. If I had known MC wouldn't do anything for me after 30 days, I would absolutely have tested the motherboard install, but I thought I had time!
Once the battery arrived, I took it to MC to be installed. Hooray! My computer is working again, right? For 3 WEEKS, and then guess what? THE BRAND NEW MOTHERBOARD FAILED. I couldn't fricking believe it. $600 for a repair that failed in 3 WEEKS.
So finally I cave and I mail the computer in to Dell for diagnostics. Yes, I have to replace the motherboard AGAIN, confirmed. So I go in the MC to see if there is any way that I can get a refund for the faulty motherboard they gave me. Just the part! Not even the labor costs! But no, of course they can't do anything for me because I'm "past the 30 day window!" Which I am hearing about for the FIRST TIME RIGHT THERE. It's crazy, and it's DISHONEST and UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES. But the tech said he'd ask the manager to contact me about it. So I waited. And waited. Four days, no contact, so I have to come back in again only to be told by the manager that he can't do anything past that magical 30 day window. Sorry~~ Never mind that I had to send it to Dell for repairs again within 30 days of being able to turn the laptop on again.
Oh, and also? If I HAD brought my computer in to them when the motherboard started acting up, I bet they would have charged me another $600 to fix their own faulty part because it was "after the 30 days"! Ridiculous. RIDICULOUS. The motherboard repair from Dell is $250, why is it SO much more expensive here?
So, in short, DO NOT EVER GO TO MICROCENTER FOR REPAIRS, JUST SEND IT IN TO YOUR MANUFACTURER. I am never, EVER, coming here again. And I'll be sure to tell everyone I know not to either!

False advertising on their website
False advertising on their website. Bought a PC Online, Went to pick it up, got home ready to launch it and there's no VGA Port like the website indicated. I tried to call them but there's no number, got to chat with someone named kyle who seemed unbothered. His customer service skills were horrible, had me waiting over 10 minutes for a answer back, then came and told me that it wasn't supposed to be on their website and I can return it. Well, I knew that already but now I have to go out of my way again to return it because of their false advertising. This Sucks.

I'll never go back
I'll never go back. They are not as knowledgeable as people may think. They have callous disregard for your time and patience. If you are not skipping through digital wonderland your butt may become meat for the dog. They are well rehearsed in having some fun with a customer. They will pass you around, each time making you explain what the problem is. They have no intention of making things right. Yes, they are the only show in town, and they know it. If you get tired of them wasting your time, beware. Spit wads are loaded. You need them more than they need you. Typical corporation that is simply too big. They let the employees run the company, and they don't like to work.
