I would never went to this company in my experience I had them move an item to another state I signed the contract when movers got there they said they had to change me $800 more and if I don’t have it moved I will lose my deposit I had No choice but to have it move since we where moving out of the house . I left messages for the agent to get back to me even ask for a supervisor no response I only get a women who is the secretary or dispatcher I even emailed them no response. And the movers told me they do this all the time . I gave them all the info weight size pictures so if it needed extra padding or be created as a moving company you should No !! stay away ! It’s a bait and switch company .

Horrible
I know they will and did respond on Google with- “you’re upset over price because you added items.” No, that’s why I added picture of final revised inventory list. (Even though it was same as original and revisions were just clarifications). When movers got here they were not prepared to take these items unless I paid over $3 k more. We did not ask them to take one thing that wasn’t already on list. This can be verified with actual moving company that loaded items. I’m not poor and can’t be so simply insulted and dismissed. I would’ve paid double to just deal with honest people.
CALL SOMEONE ELSE. READ REVIEWS. YOU CAN BOOK ACTUAL MOVERS DIRECTLY.
This is the most dishonest company, albeit, with clever bait and switch tactics. They are not even the movers, they are brokers and will tell you anything to secure that non refundable deposit. However, once the movers show up, you will learn that everything Menards said and did was a lie. So at this point you have to decide whether to go in deeper or forfeit what you’ve paid. IN my case they swindled another $800 out of me the day before the move. Again, none of this money goes to the actual movers and what the movers charge will be no where near what Maynard states on their contract. You would come off better setting your things on fire and starting over than hiring Menard.
For frame of reference, I was moving my daughter from her one bedroom apartment in Los Angeles to Kansas City. No appliances, no dining table or furniture, not even a couch. Just a loveseat, 2 chairs, a folding card table and chairs, and a bedroom suit. We boxed up the rest.
Ironically, when you call because you’re caught off guard paying $3,000 more when the movers show up—they’ll tell you contract means nothing, because it’s an estimate, but then tell you that same no contract prevents you from slander, so no Google review.
Do yourself a favor and call American Eagle Moving company directly. They are at least honest.
STAY AWAY FROM MENARD. They will not honor their “no contract” and you’ll spend just as much money suing them as they stole from you. Just go

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE.
This is hands down the WORST company I’ve ever dealt with. I was originally going to rent a U-Haul, but they talked me out of it by saying they were only a couple hundred dollars more and that it was worth it to have “professionals” handle everything. They reassured me multiple times that the price they gave me was final and that certain fees would be waived.
That was not true.
Their estimate originally included things like a long carry fee, but I specifically questioned it. I literally measured and counted the distance from my apartment door to the elevator and outside to make sure. I was told clearly that I was “good” and that the fee would be waived.
Then the actual movers showed up (a completely different company) and immediately said they had to charge the long carry fee—no exceptions.
On top of that, they added charges for crating items, bubble wrap/packing materials, and even claimed my dressers were too heavy and required additional fees. None of this matched what Menard had promised.
At that point, you’re stuck. You’ve already paid a non-refundable deposit to Menard (who is just a broker), and the movers don’t see that money. So your only options are to pay the inflated price or lose what you already paid.
This is a classic BAIT-AND-SWITCH. They tell you whatever you want to hear to lock you in, then the real costs hit when it’s too late to back out.
I don’t believe any of the good reviews are real—they don’t reflect what actually happens. The real experiences are in the detailed negative reviews, and they’re all consistent.
Save yourself the stress and just go directly with a real moving company or rent a truck. Anything is better than dealing with this.

Negative!! Liars! Scammers! Cheat a widow of a veteran!
Negative!!
I received a text from Menard’s moving after I had already setup a moving company to load and move just my furniture from Conroe Texas to Booneville, Arkansas. They said they were my movers and they needed to speak to me. They proceeded to tell me how much it would be for them to move me. Margaret was the initial contact and as you can already see they were not my movers. She got Francis on the phone so they cutoff both set up the swindle. And then the third man gets on the phone the next day and but the time these three pull the wool over a widow of a veteran’s eyes the swore on their mother’s graves that the price was $2950. PERIOD. They swore that I was signing a document- which I signed- that said this is the rate and it will not increase. I even deny them pictures of my furniture and they said the price worlds not change. When the men arrived on moving day a totally different company there arrived in a Home Depot 12 foot U-Haul trailer. They came in my house like a bunch of baffoons - huffing andv puffing and saying I had to talk to the boss! This was too much furniture! This man called me and was the rudest individual I have ever spoken to. My friend and I recorded the call and he talked to me - a widow of a us veteran- like I was a piece of trash. He told me that I had to pay $3500 because the furniture would need 1000 cubic feet in the 18 wheel trailer which was actually stop in Louisiana on the road and no where near the pickup point. He said I had only paid for 580 cubic feet and also he said that I did not pay the $150 foot crating the table- which I had! He then proceeded to threaten me and that company name was Interstate McKenzie movers. He said if I didn’t pay this money they would not take my things and I world lose the $2000 deposit I already paid. Then he said that it would take two trips to get all my stuff, but it didn’t! They proceeded to strip every single thing down and cram it into 510 cubic feet of trailer!!! The cost was $6700 now! More…

NEGATIVE STAR RATING
Jamison the Sales Rep went over piece by piece of what we was going to go on the truck with my wife. Sizes, dimensions all of it prior to the quote. So the quote came and we gave a 1/3 down deposit ($565)for the 2 days that the move was scheduled to take place. Once the dispatcher said which day which was 2 days prior we then paid the 2/3($565). Then they showed up to get my things and said it exceeds the sq footage that was agreed on? They wanted an additional $720 on top of the final $565!! I said each item was measured with Jamison prior and there should be no additional costs or charges They basically held us hostage or they wouldn't take our things! Then they wanted cash?!! We paid. Then they delayed and extra day because they said they had another stop somewhere else! Anyways, The final straw was the one mover went to the bathroom in my house and stunk up my bathroom!!DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR MOVING!! BEWARE!

Bait and Switch
If I could, I would give zero stars! I am giving this review in regard to my experience with what I believe to be deceptive, coercive, and potentially unlawful practices by the broker and carrier that the broker hired. During the course of this move, the company engaged in misleading estimates, substantial price increases after signing a contract, unprofessional conduct, and mishandling of my property that resulted in significant damage.
I was initially given an estimate of approximately $6,150.00 by Michael at Menards after giving him a full list of my 834 sq. ft house. However, as the move date arrived, the estimate increased three times and ultimately rose to $14, 696.82 by the time my belongings were picked up. The company justified these increases by claiming that the volume of my shipment exceeded the original estimate.
Prior to the move, I provided a detailed inventory list and photographs of the items to be transported and offered to provide measurements for a couple of larger pieces to ensure an accurate estimate. Despite this cooperation, the quoted price continued to escalate.
At pickup, my belongings were loaded into a single 24-26-foot box truck with room to spare, which was inconsistent with the company’s later claim that the shipment needed two trucks.
At delivery (which was late) the driver arrived with two trucks, including a 26-foot box truck, and asserted that the shipment required significantly more space than originally estimated. They left in one 24- 26ft truck with room to spare (I didn't measure the first truck) and arrived with at 26' truck and a locally rented Uhaul! The items in the Uhaul were just thrown in and many were damaged, broken or completely shattered.
The delivery process raised additional concerns. The carrier provided only four hours’ notice prior to delivery. When I requested 24 hours’ notice so I could arrange to have someone there with me to assist with the placement of items. The office initially agreed. However, the driver later stated that if we did not accept delivery immediately, he would turn the truck around with my belongings and impose an additional $1,000 charge. Under these circumstances, I felt compelled to comply in order to regain possession of my belongings which they had held for over a month. The carrier also refused to unload the shipment until payment was made in full. Even though we had concerns we wanted to discuss.
When the movers finally arrived with my belongings, they were approximately two hours late and appeared to have transferred my belongings between two trucks. I also observed that the carrier had hired local laborers through Craigslist and used a locally rented U-Haul truck to move items between vehicles. This unnecessary transfer of my belongings by untrained laborers significantly increased the risk of damage, and a substantial portion of my furniture and personal property was damaged.
The conduct of the individuals involved was also unprofessional. The driver’s manager argued and yelled at us and used profanity. He also refused to provide his name or identification when requested.
These actions reflect a pattern commonly associated with interstate moving fraud, including the use of low initial estimates to secure a contract followed by substantial price increases on the day of the move and after a consumer’s household goods are in the carrier’s possession. The move began with one company acting as a broker and was later transferred to another carrier and then a 3rd for delivery, leaving me with no practical ability to secure an alternative mover due to contractual obligations and scheduling constraints.
As a senior citizen, I believe I was placed in a vulnerable position where my household goods were effectively being withheld hostage unless I agreed to pay substantially inflated charges.
Given the misleading estimates, repeated price increases, refusal to unload without full payment, use of untrained laborers, property damage, and unprofessional conduct, if you are considering using this company please reconsider. I have moved several times in my life, but never have I been treated so badly and the damage to my items was excessive. This is not a professional company hiring professional movers.
