Run. Far. Away. Fraudulent!
Run. Far. Away. On April 19, I arranged for Menards Moving and Storage LLC to facilitate my move. I later learned they operate as a broker for moving services. During the process, I was told by Teddy Romero that I had forty-eight (48) hours to cancel if anything changed. The entire process felt extremely rushed from the beginning, and looking back now, that should have been my first warning sign. Less than five hours after signing the agreement, and after the deposit was immediately withdrawn and Chase confirmed timestamp of submission which confirms this statement, I submitted a formal written cancellation request well within the stated 48-hour cancellation period outlined in the agreement. My email stated: “I am writing to formally cancel my agreement with Menards Moving and Storage LLC. This cancellation request is being submitted approximately five (5) hours after signing the agreement, which is well within the forty-eight (48) hour cancellation window outlined in the contract to cancel agreement and obtain full refund of deposit. Please confirm receipt of this cancellation request and provide confirmation that my deposit will be refunded in full. I also request details regarding the refund timeline.” That same day, I received confirmation via text message from either Antonio or Teddy Romero stating that the cancellation had been completed as “Done”. I also received a phone call confirming the cancellation from Teddy and then a follow up email of “cancel” and was told they hoped to do business with us in the future. I have records of the text and email communications. After several days passed with no refund or update, I followed up again(4 times now) through the email listed on their agreement and through the multiple contacts who had previously communicated with me. Now, on May 14, after all of those confirmations and after canceling within FIVE HOURS of signing, I received a message from Katie Caruso claiming my cancellation was outside the allowed window and refusing the refund. Seriously! At this point, based on my experience and after reviewing similar complaints from others, this entire situation appears extremely concerning and fraudulent. The pattern of taking deposits and refusing refunds despite documented cancellations is alarming and should be a red flag for all. As of today, I still have not received my refund. I am continuing discussions with my credit card company and preparing to move forward with additional action, including filing in small claims court if necessary. For anyone considering using this company: please read the reviews carefully and DO NOT USE THEM. My recommendation is to run as far away as possible.
