My story is the same as others here: I was quoted $4695.00 and paid a $2294.25 deposit. When the time came to schedule the pickup, their “Quality Assurance” person said that the original order was all wrong and they had to charge me an additional $10,450.50. Yes, you read that correctly: they TRIPLED the price. I was fortunate that my back was not to the wall and I could cancel, so I did. They refused to refund the deposit. I am now fighting that. These are bad people. Avoid at ALL COSTS.

Worst Movers Ever
These are Horrible people taking advantage. Used Menards to move across country. They gave a quote. I accepted it gave a deposit. 2 days before picking up they DOUBLED the quote and demanded more money. Daniel told me if I didn't pay, they would only pick up half.
They are a broker and useless. Run! There are plenty of honest movers...use them

Was not happy to know they were a broker and not a real moving company. The truck arrived he did not have a ramp to load the boxes, the people they hired came and went was hard to keep track of who was helping and they broke our $800. Table leg and did not let us know until we unpacked and they put the leg on backward plus various other mishaps. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

They stole over $2,000 from us
They stole over $2,000 from us. When you're talking to the salesman, they'll tell you anything you want to hear. What they won't tell you is that you have only 48 hours to cancel after booking, no matter what. Otherwise the best you can hope for is a one-year hold in case you find another home.
The financing fell through on our purchase so we tried cancelling it right away. Sent an email to them, never heard back. Called them today and this is when we found out about this 48 hours.
"It's in the contract." is their excuse.
Bottom line, do not listen to the salesman. They will give you a high pressure sale pitch "lock in this price today. Tomorrow the price will probably be higher."
I'm not rich; I can't afford to lose the $2,000+.
They don't care. I'm not sure how people like that can look themselves in the mirror. I'd give them 0 stars if I could.

Horrible experience
I have nothing good to say about Menards Moving & Storage. They quoted me a bit less than $8000 to send a team of trained movers to pack our stuff and move it from Maine to New Jersey the Monday or Tuesday after Christmas. We signed a contract and thought the issue was settled. The weather on Monday was bad, so we agreed they could get our stuff on Tuesday morning. I called Menards on Tuesday morning to find out where they were; finally they told me that the truck had broken down on the highway, but they planned to get to me that day. Finally, in the late afternoon, they said the truck couldn’t be repaired in time and they’d get a new truck to our house on Wednesday morning. I emphasized that the buyer was moving in at noon, so we needed to be out of the house by then. Menards’ moving team showed up around 11 a.m., sat around for a while, and told me and my wife that we had more stuff than they expected, and we had to pay an extra $22,000 for them to move us. (I’d used FaceTime to show the representative from Menards what they’d be moving, so there’s no excuse for them to be surprised. It’s the company’s responsibility to figure out what’s being moved before the quote is signed, but the contract obviously meant nothing to this team.) My wife and I didn’t have the money and had to borrow $11,000 for the down payment. Finally, the “movers” started packing our stuff while I went to get a check from our realtor to cover the new costs. When I got back, the movers had left the house to drop stuff off at the warehouse and said they’d be back for the rest of our belongings, though they’d barely removed anything from the house in the first load. Finally a couple hours after they’d left, the movers came back to continue packing. By this time the new homeowners had shown up and were trying to move in. Our movers poked around until around 8 p.m. (long after they were supposed to be done), and, with maybe half of our stuff removed from the house, they said they were too cold and tired to continue, and they’d come back the next morning for the rest of it. The new homeowners helped them move our things out of the house until 9, when the movers left, promising to come back at 7 a.m. Notably they left a wardrobe sitting on the front lawn in the snow, having apparently been unable to get it the rest of the way to the truck.
The team showed up at 9 or 10 a.m. the next day and left shortly before noon. The driver called me to complain that the new homeowners were “bothering” them by moving our stuff out of the house; the homeowners told us they did this because the movers were moving so slowly they were afraid they’d never finish otherwise. Despite the extra 24 hours, the huge extra fee foisted on us, and the extra help they received, a refrigerator, several shelving units, a lawn chair, and several other items never made it into the truck. I called Menards several times during the ordeal to complain about the extra cost, the breach of contract, and the slowness, but they claimed not to be able to do anything.
It took this horrible moving team two shipments to get all of our stuff to our home in NJ. Things had been packed haphazardly, usually with tape all over it, and a lot of our stuff, including my great-grandparents’ Limoge china and several pieces of furniture made by my wife’s grandfather, were broken. On the first delivery day (a Saturday), they gave me a hard time over the check I gave them for the remaining $22,000—apparently they wanted a receipt, although they finally accepted the check and unpacked the truck, dumping things in random rooms and not staging anything as I had been told they’d do. The movers left that evening (the unpack also took a long time, and they showed up much later than they said they would) saying that they’d be back the next day. When I called on Sunday to ask when they’d arrive, I was told that the movers don’t work on Sundays, and they’d contact me to tell me when they’d arrive on Monday. After I called them a few time on Monday, I was told that “something came up” over the weekend and they’d couldn’t get there until Tuesday. Once again they arrived late and took their time unpacking. This time there were only three of them, and they complained it was too hard for them to carry our beds and other furniture up the stairs unless we paid $600 for them to find new movers. Finally we convinced them to carry most of the furniture and boxes up the stairs as promised. The beds and other furniture weren’t put together; mostly things were just dropped. It took us months to organize our stuff; finally we paid a couple handymen to come move a few things for us, and to throw out the furniture the movers broke.
I contacted Menards a couple times, but they have accepted no accountability for our experience. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM

This company will give low ball prices…
This company will give low ball prices to move you and then attempt to double and triple your bill at time of move or will refuse to move your items unless you pay the extra fees and will not honor their promise of refunds. I am a disabled veteran and they attempted to sue me once I canceled. I would highly recommend staying away from this company as they are predators. I want all veterans to not fall for their lies and to use other shipping services. Please take warning of these predators.

I had a terrible experience with Mendard Moving.
This move has been nothing but stressful from start to finish. I hired movers specifically to make the process easier, but instead it turned into a complete nightmare.
Everyone I spoke to gave me different information, and communication was extremely poor. I was told that moving just one state over could take more than two weeks to receive my belongings, which is completely unreasonable. On top of that, they kept asking for more and more money throughout the process.
The lack of professionalism, constant confusion, and poor communication made this an awful experience. I would never recommend this company to anyone.
