The worse worse airline in the universe, booked flight Perth to Istanbul and paid for extra leg room seats. I paid for extra leg room seats but when boarding from Malaysia I was in last row of the plane with worse no leg room . I am 193 cm tall and had to seat no leg room Turkish flight where you packed in like sardines. Qatar airlines is the best airline in worse world airline s. Don’t fly Malaysia or Turkish airlines it’s hopeless

0 stars - extremely disappointed, employees are gangsters
0 stars – really disappointing experience
had a very frustrating experience with Malaysia Airlines and honestly wouldn’t recommend flying with them. Before my trip, I checked with their customer support about baggage. They clearly told me my cabin bag, backpack and handbag were fine and wouldn’t be charged. The same thing was confirmed again by staff at Brisbane airport, so I travelled based on that. But at Mumbai airport, everything changed. I was suddenly told I had excess baggage and had to pay immediately. This made no sense given what I had been told earlier. What made it worse was how it was handled. I was first asked to pay in cash or transfer money to a personal account and was only given a handwritten note. There was no proper receipt at the time and it was not just me, there were at least 10 other passengers who have been harassed and asked to thousands of dollars. On top of that, I was told my baggage would be removed and I could miss my flight if I didn’t pay straight away. I felt pressured and didn’t really have a choice. Their staff members are gangsters, they act extremely rude and impolite. Later, after chasing them, I got a receipt but even that had errors with the tax. It just didn’t feel transparent or professional at all. I raised a complaint, but it took 14 days to get a response and they didn’t really address the main issues like why I was given wrong information or why the rules were applied differently at different airports. After this experience, I’ve also come across other people sharing similar stories, which is worrying. Overall, it felt inconsistent, stressful and poorly handled. I wouldn’t feel confident flying with them again. If you want to travel stress free and you care about money, I urge everyone not to fly with them.

Crappy customer service and tricky penalty charges
@MalaysiaAirlines This was a very frustrating experience.
We booked SYD–TRV tickets (2 adults + infant) around 1am. During booking, your system showed our names exceeded the 53-character limit, forcing us to shorten them after several attempts just to complete the booking.
The next morning (within ~10 hours), we contacted customer service to correct the names to match our passports — and were told this would incur a $159 penalty.
So customers are effectively paying extra because of a system limitation they didn’t create?
Despite explaining this, there was no flexibility, waiver, or reduction offered.
We paid the fee, but the entire experience was disappointing. What should have been a happy moment for our family turned stressful and frustrating.
We had carefully saved for this trip, and unexpected charges like this really impact customers.
Sharing this so others are aware and can double-check name formats before booking.
Paid $159 for a “name correction”… and our names are still shortened on the ticket. So the system limitation remains, but the charge doesn’t.

Unpleasant airline
Would not recommend. Poor customer service. They refused to allow my cabin approved pushchair on the plane then lost it . Didn’t even acknowledge my 18 month old’s existence.the flight was made so difficult with a toddler and no where to change him as the changing table was so small on the plane. Not a single offer of food or drink for him either. They eventually pit ua on a different flight but refused to tell us any detail or give us boarding passes until last minute and didnt make sure all
Our belonging were transferred to the change of plane either He had to share everything of mine. Malaysia airlines Told me id have my pushchair returned 48 hours later which it didn’t and arrived later then I was told it then came to me broken and wouldn't open up at all. My suitcase also came off the plane broken. I contacted them explaining about all the delays and loss of property and damage as there was a 13 hour delay and because they lost my chair chair and refused for me to take it on the plane i had to carry my 18month old and our bags with no help the whole time. No body was around to communicate what was happening and what we were supposed to do as we weren’t allowed on the plane. When I contacted them after returning home it took weeks for a response just for them to refuse to take any accountability for their errors. The most stressful , unpleasant experience I have ever had whilst travelling . Really did completely ruin my holiday and yet no compensation was offered at all. Should be ashamed of themselves.

It's a company that scams people
I was unable to check in for my flight because the name on my ticket was my common name and not the maidden one. The airline charged me a fee to change the name to my maiden name, only to then refuse boarding because the name still didn’t match my previous flights. After spending hours on the phone with customer service over the past month, I still haven’t received a refund for the useless name change.
This is not just poor service, it’s a scam. Avoid this company

Worst service for wheelchair and elderly parents
My elderly parents travelled from Sydney to Ahmedabad on 19 April, and the experience was completely unacceptable.
We booked wheelchair assistance four weeks in advance, and it was confirmed. Despite this, only one wheelchair was provided at Sydney airport. Your staff openly stated they did not have the capacity. This is not a minor inconvenience, it is a serious failure of duty of care toward elderly passengers.
During transit in Malaysia, the situation worsened. My parents, along with several other elderly passengers, were dropped of to the wrong gate (the gate was changed) and then forced to walk to a newly assigned gate. This is inexcusable, especially for passengers who had pre-booked mobility assistance.
At Ahmedabad airport, the conduct was even more concerning. The wheelchair attendant demanded a tip in advance and then abandoned my parents approximately 200 meters before the pickup point, claiming the wheelchair could not go further. This behavior is both unethical and unacceptable.
If your organisation cannot meet the demand for wheelchair assistance, you should not be confirming such services. You should charge for this service, we dont mind to pay for it! Failing to deliver after confirmation, particularly to elderly passengers who do not speak English, shows a complete lack of responsibility and care.
As a direct result of this experience, my father became unwell. This situation could have been avoided with proper planning and basic human consideration!

Avoid like the plague
Avoid like the plague, worst airline experience on the planet!
Changed our family Business class tickets from 2 hour stop over to 23 hours and then gave away our seats so part of the family had to fly economy. They only refunded 50% of the business class ticket as prices had changed from time of original booking. Customer service and help line took 7 business days to organise new seats, then when we flew there were empty seats in Business class..! WTF!
I wouldn't fly with them for free
