This is an airlines that doesn’t care about its customers. Sat my family of five many rows apart in three different places on a long haul flight and would make no effort to fix the issue on checkin. We had checked in online on the dot and there were no seating alternatives available, as seems normal on this airline. We arrived at checkin 4 hrs before departure and staff were a brick wall. No interest in helping at all. If you expect any level of service, better to choose an alternative when there is one.

Appalling customer service. Claim to refund you but don’t! Re: 5YGQ7S You informed me on the 2 August 2023 that my flight had changed, the new time was not suitable for me. You offered me a refund which I submitted an immediate request for. I had booked flex tickets that allowed cancellation and full refund regardless. Whilst I was still in the UK I tried calling the contact centre from the UK many times and was on hold for over an hour each time before getting cut off before anyone picked up. I followed up with emails, and I provided my credit card details on at least three occasions to the Refund Team and each time I was told my refund was being processed. As the refund did not arrive I submitted a customer contact form online. Eventually a colleague of yours - Nevidarshini (Nevi) Customer Relations – Airline Business - contacted me and said on 9/8/2023 the refund had been processed. However I’ve still not received this refund!! Neither has Nevi replied to my subsequent emails about my refund which is very poor customer service. I purposefully booked with Malaysia Airlines as I thought you were a reputable and reliable company. I also booked the flex ticket to give me flexibility. I am very disappointed with your customer service and should not have to be constantly chasing you for my refund. I would like to make a formal complaint and I would request that you refund me for the above booking ASAP. PLEASE ADVISE AND REFUND ASAP.

Overall travel experience onboard was exceptional however due to my flight from KL being delayed I missed my connection flight from LHR. I have emailed Malaysia Airlines on multiple occasions and I had to pay again for my connecting flight (£199 if I recall correctly) but since 2nd June I have had no response. My response from them on that date was that they were still looking into the matter but to date I am still waiting. I have emailed on the 5th July, 27th July, 13th August and 16th August. It’s now nearly 4 months since my initial email and I do think I’ve been quite patient but really how long are you expected to wait for a satisfying outcome to having a complaint resolved?

I am disgusted by this airline and if the consumer law is in place in Malaysia, they should be close them down. This airline absolutely horrible at communicating their flight details and have misleading T&Cs. I had to cancel a flight which my partner bought with his points, we bought a flex ticket so we can cancel the flight for a full refund if we needed to and we tried doing that 2 weeks before the flight, but they refused to return the points even thought in their T&Cs it stated that it comes with a full refund. They came up with a random excuse not to return the points, saying there are different T&Cs somewhere else and they couldn’t even find it to show it us and hanged up the phone!! Very professional. They also wight every ounce of your carry on and handbag once in awhile to trick you. Even if you don’t have a checked baggage, they say both have to be 7kg and if it’s not, have to check in your bag! Only cheap airlines do that, why are we paying extra then? I am disgusted by this airline and recommend saving your money and fly with Airasia, at least they are transparent and worth the money you pay.

Your seats didn't even have enough leg room for my wife and 14 year old daughter. This is unacceptable, where you squeeze in extra seats for profit so over more than a 9 hour flight we can't be comfortable. We won't fly Malaysian Airlines again. I will also provide independent reviews outside of this survey recommending people don't fly with you. It was terrible. MH0133 Saturday 22 July. Seat 46D, 46E and 46F. Was it just these seats? My wife and 14 year old child can't fit in your plane due to legroom. They took out the magazines from the seat pocket ahead because their knees were hitting it. Is it just these seats? Malaysian airlines screwed us.

Malaysian Airlines has a frequent flyer program called ENRICH. They recently devalued the value of their air miles by a factor of between 2 and 3 times. As an example, a one way business class ticket from Kuala Lumpur to Heathrow booked well in advance and on non peak flights required circa 86,000 Enrich Miles to secure. That same off peak flight booked way in advance is now no less that 226,000 Enrich Miles. The same applies to shorter flights around Asia. The airline has essentially cheated its most loyal customers who have accumulated their Miles flying Malaysian Airlines. Shocking strategic mistake and certain to alienate their most valuable customers and engender mistrust.

We used Malaysia Airlines to travel to Brisbane, Australia (left the UK in September 2022 and returned on April 23, 2023). In March we were informed Malaysia Airlines had ceased their return flights from Brisbane to KL and that we had to fly to Sydney for the return flight. This meant we had to rebook and re-pay for our seats with extra legroom (£45 each) We were assured we would be refunded for the seats paid for on the canceled flights. Having repeatedly rang the company and being promised a refund, today I was informed that there is no refund. We thoroughly enjoyed our flights with Malaysia Airlines which was one of our best trips to and from Australia. The staff was wonderful and we could not fault the food and comfort. We just feel the airline has stolen this money from us as it was the airline that cancelled this flight and not us.
