I appreciated all the tools that Lumiere provided for a successful outcome of my paper. I loved the mentor I got matched with. The guidance that I was provided from my mentor lead my path to success on the paper and in college.

I had an amazing experience at Lumiere. I had a great mentor who guided me on my researching journey, and I was able to cultivate my newfound passion with the skills Lumiere provided me with.

Lumiere has amazing mentors in their team

My experience of writing a research paper with Lumiere was unforgettable and filled to the brim with learning! Firstly, the initial interview to decide on my area of research to be matched with my mentor was a good ice-breaker for the program because we covered all the options of study I was considering. There were no neglected ideas and more were always welcome. Secondly, my mentor was a huge reason I loved working with Lumiere. We addressed every idea I had in relation to the field of psychology. And, even though my mentor revealed she was unfamiliar with certain aspects I wanted to research, she encouraged me to do it because she saw I was passionate about combining English and psychology. Ultimately, it was an exciting project to get to work on collaboratively! She also kept communication lines open throughout the three months of the program, which was a huge relief in case any doubts came up in between our weekly meetings.

My experience with the Lumiere program was great, and I learned many new things. This included how to write research papers, how to accept and embrace critic, and how to research a specific topic. This intro to research will be very beneficial to my college career and beyond.

I was part of the spring cohort this year with a full scholarship. During the three months I was able to learn more about the area of biology under the mentorship of a PhD graduate from University of Cambridge. Overall, it was a transformative experience, allowing me to engage in immersive research and exposed me to different aspects of these field that were previously unfamiliar to me. I highly recommend this program to any high school student interested in research!

My mentor, Malak Sadek, was amazing! She was supportive and provided excellent guidance. The sessions on writing and research were extremely detailed and helpful. The program managers did a wonderful job helping me keep my tasks on track throughout my research journey.

My mentor gave me a lot of resources to figure out what I wanted to research, and by guiding me on my selected path, I had an enjoyable experience and created a highly academic paper that matched with my study goals. Lumiere has been very generous with financial aid (I got a full ride!), so I hope the money will not be a factor that deters you from applying to the program. For students with limited access to research in their interests, Lumiere is an amazing opportunity to do so.
