Great outreach opportunities even after the research program ended.

My experience was awesome! I was able to learn more about scientific research while deepening my knowledge about topics that are interesting to me. My mentor also helped me a lot throughout the process, giving me advices and suggestions about my research. The whole Lumiere team assisted me with my publication process.

I did Lumiere's individual research project as a senior in 2022. It was my first time doing independent academic research, and I knew very little about academic writing and was unfamiliar with reading literature. However, my mentor, Andrew, was very professional and patient. Not only were the lessons informative, but I began to have goals and confidence under his guidance. I had some procrastination, but Andrew and my director, Prakriti, were both very understanding, and I managed to complete the project with a flexible schedule. Overall Lumiere program is one of the best experiences I've had within academic projects.This experience was just the beginning of academic research for me, but the confidence it left me with and the skills I learnt to do research have helped me immensely in all kinds of researches since then (including EPQ, etc.)
