We switched to LifeFone from MobileHelp and got my Mom the All-in-one 2-way voice pendant with GPS tracking. The only complaints I have is that the GPS works only through triangulation with cell-phone towers, and it therefore can not pinpoint her location. It can only provide a general range. I also don’t like that she has to take it off every 30 days for charging, and that this same system doesn’t come in a wristband version. She takes it off to shower because it gets in the way and takes it off once a month to charge. It should either use watch batteries or detachable batteries. If this system had actual GPS assistance in addition to cell phone triangulation (like an iPhone), worked off of watch batteries that didn’t require charging, AND came in a wristband version it would be the perfect system. I would have happily paid extra for fall-Detection except it would mean she had to take it off 6 times more frequently for charging. I already don’t like her taking it off to charge because she may forget its charging and walk away from it. GPS is not as precise as it could be, and she can’t wear it on her wrist which would be most comfortable. This should come with 2 detachable batteries so that one can be worn while the other charges (or a series of replaceable watch batteries). It should come in a wristband version with actual GPS, not relying solely on cell tower triangulation. It would be simple and practical for LifeFone to address all of these concerns and if they did I would be willing to pay more than I currently am.
