We had the plan for 2 years. No place takes it and when you submit bills, they wait a year to pay them while the healthcare company continues to call you. Terrible business and even tricked us with the last payment becuase you need to give 30 days notice.

Hi Declan,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We currently have a backlog of expenses that is resulting in longer sharing timeframes. We would appreciate the opportunity to resolve any issue you are having with our service and will put you in contact with someone from our Resolution Team that can help.
We appreciate your continued patience.

Terrible company and experience --- Did…
Terrible company and experience --- Did everything they asked - prior approval, negotiated with the provider, submitted paperwork on time etc. Bills of over $16,000 ( 4/21 - 10/21 ) still have not be paid. My savings was emptied in order to protect my credit. Many providers in the Cleveland market will not even accept Liberty.

Michael,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We apologize for any frustration this has caused you. After review of your membership, we can see all of your processed expenses are still eligible to be shared. Unfortunately, we cannot provide a definitive timeframe, but are addressing the pre-2022 backlog expenses each month. Since we have already been in communication with you, we will continue to update you with any progress we see.

Dishonest and Un-christian
Dishonest and Un-christian. In 2 months we incucred over $3200+ of medical bills, partially due to accidental injuries. Out deductible is only $3500, but we tried to be responsible and negotiated the bills down to $1869.40. Liberty Healthshare found a way to deny everything except $81.60 of reimbursement and only allowed $693.50 to be applied to our AUA. Upon explaining our situation and how we might need to cancel, we were informed that any expenses incurred in the last 60 days would not be covered if we cancelled, however we would not receive our contributions of about $1600 back either. In order to receive the $81.60 that they actually approved, we would have to spend another $1600 to cover 2 MORE months of contributions, but not bills submitted in that time frame would be covered. I asked what exactly we were paying for if they are not covering the time periods we have paid premiums for and was told, "Sorry it's our policy." There is no mercy here. There is no compassion here. There is no Christianity here. There is simply theft of funds and no service provided. They used to be great, but they no longer align with what it means to me to be Christian and certainly do not stand for what they claim to stand for.

Thank you for your feedback C Marie,
We are unable to locate your membership. It sounds as if we may be able to help or at minimum provide understanding. Here at Liberty HealthShare our member experience is a top priority, and it is important to us that we take the time to listen and fully understand our members’ unique situations and assist to the very best of our ability. We do have Sharing Guidelines in place that outline what is and what is not eligible for sharing. The figures you are listing do not correlate with any of our current programs, as none of our programs, have an Annual Unshared Amount of $3,500. In September 2021, we notified our members of our updated programs and guidelines 60 days prior to them taking effect. I understand that change can be frustrating, if you require assistance, please reach out to our Member Resolution Team and we will be more than happy to research your membership and assist you.

Why did I pay monthly premiums if I wasn't even covered?
A good review for LHS make you wonder...who's actually leaving these reviews. Maybe employees of Liberty Health Share!?! Especially since they seem to know everyone by name! Also makes me wonder why I just paid a $1,300.00 lab bill on 1/12/23. A bill that I was told several times by Liberty Health Share, "It has been proceed for payment", & I was even given an actual date as to when it would be paid out. However, Liberty Health Share NEVER paid it! This bill was from 2021...that's way more than 120 days! Wouldn't you agree!?!
Of course, they will never pay/reimburse me now, because I cancelled my policy with them...even though I was covered at the date of service and paid all my premiums to Liberty Health.
I was stuck paying an 8K medical bill after cancelling my coverage. I was told they had just implemented a new policy (how convenient for them). They will not pay any expenses 90 prior to me cancelling coverage. Funny that when I called to ask how I go about cancelling my coverage, this was NEVER mentioned. I even ask, "So, I'm covered up until my date of cancellation?" I was told yes, but when it came time for LHS to pay an 8K bill, a bill that was well within my coverage date, it was denied. Explain to me why I paid premiums for those 90 days if I wasn't covered...it doesn't make since? At the very least they should reimburse me for those 3 months.

Thank you, Tammy, for sharing your experience.
We understand change can be frustrating. However, we have made updates to our policies and programs to align with changes in our sharing community and to better serve our members. In September 2021, we notified our members of our updated programs and guidelines 60 days prior to them taking effect to give ample time for members to make necessary changes to their memberships. These changes were implemented to help keep our ministry and SharePower strong, this enables our members to share fair and reasonably priced medical costs with one another. We would be more than happy to further explain these details with you and review your membership if you would like. If so, please reach out to us at (855) 585-4237.

I really hate writing bad reviews for…
I really hate writing bad reviews for companies, but if there ever was a company that deserved all of the 1 star reviews you see here, it is Liberty Healthshare. They truly are a dishonest and unethical company to work with. Not only do they take forever to pay bills and provide reimbursement, they will slash your bills to a fraction of what they said they would pay and leave you with the rest of the bill.
Just look at the share guidelines. As of this year, they do not do any balanced billing. If you go to the hospital for an emergency or even a procedure they approve with a pre-authorization, they will cut the bill to Medicare rates which will be a fraction of the bill and leave you to pay for the rest.
I was given the wrong information from some of the associates at Liberty and it has cost us a lot of money. I have called a couple of different supervisors and nobody will return my calls or look into my concerns.
As Liberty states, they are not an insurance company. They pride themselves on being a sharing ministry doing great work for people but just read the Google reviews and look them up in the BBB to see clearly that they are not taking good care of people. Because they are not regulated by the health department as an insurance company, when they refuse to pay your bill or leave you with a large balance, you have no recourse.
My intention with this review is not to bad mouth the company but to save others from the same nightmare that my wife and I are dealing with.
Response from Liberty HealthShareFeb 8, 2023
Hi Matthew,
Thank you for your review. As a healthshare ministry our mission is to make the Christian tradition of healthcare sharing available and affordable to all. From time to time, we do make changes to our Sharing Guidelines to better serve our sharing community. We take our commitment to responsibly facilitate our members’ resources very seriously, which is why our community only shares eligible, reasonably priced medical expenses. Choosing a healthcare provider who offers fair prices for medical services and/or requesting self-pay discounts can eliminate potential balance billing. While we understand your concerns, our updated programs and guidelines help keep our community strong and enable our members to continue to share medical costs with one another. To address any further concerns, you may contact our Member Resolution Team at (855) 585-4237.
Thank you.

We are a skilled inuring provider in…
We are a skilled inuring provider in Virginia. After providing months of skilled nursing care for a resident with Liberty Healthcare in 2021, we have received no reimbursement. We are out approximately $65,000. They have said the claims are approved but can not tell us if or when these claims will ever be paid.
Response from Liberty HealthShareJan 26, 2023
Hello, Alan,
We are doing the best we can to issue all reimbursements in a timely manner within the parameters set for our programs and policies. We would appreciate the opportunity to try and resolve your billing issues on any mutual memberships we have between us. Please call in and ask to speak to our Member Resolution Team for assistance. We appreciate your patience.

Unable to cancel - Hotel California?
I have been paying on-time (auto-pay) since April, 2020. Since day one, I've submitted zero expenses for sharing/reimbursement.
That's nearly $10,000 in funds I've contributed to this sharing "ministry." I have new insurance kicking in on Feb 1 and logged into the portal to cancel my membership and can't find any way to cancel. Now I'm reading reviews that Liberty Healthshare is more than 2 years behind in paying their members' reimbursements! My guess is that Liberty was unable to cover their members' expenses and is using new money to pay overdue health shares. Has it become a Ponzi scheme?
Response from Liberty HealthShareFeb 21, 2023
Hi Esteban,
Thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns. You can always call or email us to find information on cancelling your membership. We are working on a backlog of pre-2022 expenses; however, we have reduced the total amount of that backlog by nearly 34%. As a non-profit ministry, our resources are limited to the voluntary contributions of our members each month. Those funds are used by other members to share their medical expenses. Amounts not used each month are allocated to reducing the backlog. We would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly but were unable to locate your membership. If you need further assistance, please reach out to us at (855) 585 4237.
