I have cancer and lots of bills are coming in. I was getting harassed by the hospital because the hospital is not accustomed to working with a health share ministry. I called Liberty Health Share, and their team got in contact with the hospital financial office directly, worked through the issues, and the hospital and I are now completely satisfied with the process. Special Thank you's go out to Sandra and Ketrina at Liberty Health Share for their persistence and kindness.

I've been with them for 8 years!
I've been with this organization for almost 8 years. They have supported me many times. In fact, I had a stroke in 2018 and after multiple tests I had a rare congenital heart defect. I had to have surgery to fix/repair my heart. This process was yearlong and Liberty HealthShare was phenomenal every step of the way, very caring, answered my questions, dealt with hospitals/doctors/surgeons/bills, etc. and took care of everything. I'm proud to part of this organization. Thank you!

I have never been helped so thoroughly as I was today by Keytrina! 😊
I have never been helped so thoroughly as I was today by Ketrina! 😊 I have been calling and calling Liberty for over a week asking for about 9 bills that were incorrectly processed by Liberty. I spoke to several customer service representatives, including a supervisor, who all promised I would receive call backs for managers. I did not receive one phone call back - ever! Needless to say, this occurred after I had been a Liberty client for almost 10 years. I did not feel like a priority to Liberty nor did I feel like Liberty cared about me. I was in current need of medical services but was denied by the provider until these bills were paid even though they were not my responsibility. I had stated my emergency situation each time I called in but my issue was not treated in an emergency like fashion. Today when I connected with Ketrina, she was extremely helpful, polite and knowledgeable GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND spending an hour and 17 mins on the phone with me to clear up the issues with Liberty’s system. She also was gracious enough to allow me to add the provider to the phone call to request these bills be placed on hold so that I could get the service I needed while Liberty was reprocessing. Having a caring spirit is an attribute which is lacking in most customer service employees that I come in contact with on a daily basis. They may be able to do their job correctly but that’s the minimum effort. Not Ketrina though! She truly cares! I understand why she has achieved her position as a manager. I would highly recommend Ketrina and nominate her as much more than a true customer service provider! 💗

Disappointed in this organization
I signed up with Liberty Healthshare because I wanted to comply with the law. I only needed to be covered for six months as I was turning 65 and would be on Medicare. Thankfully, I did not have any major illnesses/injuries where I needed to use the coverage. I just paid my money which hopefully went to help others. When I was a few days late canceling my coverage they were unwilling to refund my automatic payment even though I was now covered by Medicare.
Regular insurance companies are required by law to refund unearned premiums, but because they are a ‘Christian’ share company, they are not obligated to follow the same moral and legal guidelines. As I said, I never used their insurance, or whatever it’s called, so I can’t speak about whether it’s good or not, but I would advise others to be very careful and read all the fine print before signing up with this company.

Leslie,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear you feel you have had less than a pleasurable experience. Liberty HealthShare is not insurance and should not be considered as insurance. We make this very clear to prospective and current members, including noting it multiple times in our application for membership and Sharing Guidelines. We are a non-profit Christian healthcare sharing ministry, where like-minded individuals come together to share each other’s medical expenses. Liberty HealthShare does not pay their bills; we facilitate the process of sharing between members. The only funds used to share each other’s expenses are those that our active members voluntarily contribute. Our Sharing Guidelines clearly note that members who wish to cancel their membership do so by the 25th of the month before the cancellation. We are not able to refund a members' monthly contributions. If you have additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly at (855) 585-4237

Customer service was great
Any time we had to call we had great customer service. We never needed to use the insurance for any health related bills, so we cannot speak to that service, which is why we gave it a 4 rating. It was comforting to know we had insurance and that it was a Christian based company.

Not Perfect, But Pretty Good Thus Far
Since I joined at getting my 1st ever job in late-2014, Liberty Healthshare (L.H.S.) has been pretty great. Not perfect, but it's not failed me yet. Also, being able to read of each other's health-issues (and/or their loved-ones), and pray for each other has been quite nice. No medical bills so far has been left unpaid. (The most stressful issues I had dated back to 2015-2016, when I still had healthcare-providers who didn't participate and required me to send the already-paid bill for reimbursement. Their persistent refusal to just send me the bill in the mail to send to L.H.S. made me drop them. Since then, no issues.) Thankfully, I'm healthy, so my healthcare needs are very little per year. Hence, my annual-checkup bills have been without issue.
I suffered a car-accident in late-2020 while on the job. Thanks to worker's compensation & L.H.S., the bill finally came to me by the middle of 2021… for a mere $49.16. (I paid it like lightning and saved the e-mailed receipt! lol) Adding the 2020-submitted bills reported on my ShareBox-account, that should be over $2.5k if not for L.H.S.!
I can understand from other reviews here (& other sites) serious issues of unpaid bills, and to them it saddens me that their experiences did not fare well in their cases. (God help them! 🙏) Thankfully, L.H.S. has been trying to address this since 1 January 2022, and has paid-off about ⅔ of its bill-backlog (as per the 16 July 2024-edition of the e-mail monthly newsletter, about 2.5years' worth of effort from us members & the admin.'s. So God willing, L.H.S. should be debt-free in a year & 3 months? 🙏).
God willing, the improvements & reforms will continue! God willing (after the obligations are fulfilled), L.H.S. will be able to reach and keep the delicate balance of compassionate generosity as per its noble, Biblical mission & necessary fiscal-responsibility that will make it a sustainable & stable healthcare-financing solution so deeply needed in our troubled world today. 🙏

Phone call with Liberty
Although there are things about Liberty Healthshare that make me want to pull my hair out, this review is about my recent 'phone call to them. I needed to file a claim for my annual wellness visit. Call was answered immediately. I was cordially greeted, directed to exactly where I needed to go on the website and helped to find all I needed to file. Very efficiently and kindly.
