Terrible experience. Inconsistent and erratic app, after 20 min and three attempted rides, none of the scooters started and money wasted. Customer service not available to claim money back. Stay away from lime!

The one star is only because you can’t give zero. When I first started using Lime I was pretty impressed. The bikes were well maintained and apparently plentiful around London. However the last few rides I’ve taken have been abysmal and today was just a lash up. I hired a bike in Southfields and limped it at a terrible, wobbly wheeled, barely moving pace as I then could not lock it in the area I’d rented it from. Why have these bikes to hire in areas that you can’t leave them in? Especially as so many now are faulty. Eventually gave up on a street in Chelsea and filled in the form on the app to tell them that bike needed attention. On the app - an image of one of their scooters comes up to point the areas that are faulty. Why?? Then walked a long distance trying to find another bike. Three along the way had their QR codes torn/scratched/bent off and there’s no other code visible on the bike to manually input and hire - again, an image of a scooter comes up to say where the code is. The only visible code on the bike is on the rear mudguard and this isn’t the one! Found one to hire after half hour of walking - it immediately started jumping the chain & losing power so I stopped it a few yards from where I started and complained via the app (there’s no number anywhere that gets you through to a person). Walked another half hour or so down the Kings Road trying to find one with a QR code/any battery left. No joy. But they kept appearing as bookable, only to not let me when I actually scanned them. After four failed attempts I was then locked out of the service for making ‘too many bookings’ This afternoon I’ve walked the ten miles or so I was planning to ride. Have tweeted the company, emailed them and also tried a helpline number that doesn’t connect. They have already refunded both actual rides but that’s not really the point. The bikes are clearly not being serviced properly or charged often enough. It’s obviously a thing to rip the flimsy plastic QR code off leaving the bikes unhireable. The app seems completely scooter oriented esp when it comes to complaining. Great concept guys but an increasingly dreadful service. It’s a shame.

Terrible company and service. Though the Jump bikes they bought from Uber are much better than the rubbish green bikes they started with, their commitment to their customers is ZERO. In fact I've had to come to the conclusion that, from their lousy/atrocious/abysmal/"hide your customer service phone number from people" attitude that this arrogant company must have a kind of contempt for their customers. The bikes are poorly maintained, meaning much of the time the bikes are not charged when you encounter them. Yesterday alone, I found seven bikes in a row with no charge, in the West End. A few weeks previous, I had to walk from. Warren Street to Leicester Square practically to find even one bike.. and what did I find ? 12 bikes all lined up in a row, and this on a Friday night. Who runs this company? I mean seriously, did someone actually award this incompetent business the right to now have scooters when it treats its bike customers like they are of zero importance? Finding a Uk customer service number on their website: IMPOSSIBLE. I resorted to calling a US customer service number resulting in a huge bill. I've been promised call backs three times now, and surprise surprise they haven't called. Why? Its obvious, they just do not care about their customers. The only positive point are the Uber Jump bikes are great when working, but Lime just bought them all off UBER and now treat both the bikes and the customers like disposable commodities. Well, I hope that this truly spectacular lack of care for customer service will be the shining beacon that Lime projects therefore making it obvious to all their customers that they should be abandoned in droves the moment another company that has even a modicum of respect for its users shows up. (By the way I finally located a phone number, but no it isn't on the website - just type in Salford and lime customer service uk - that makes sense doesn't it? unbelievable!!!!)

I used a Lime scooter in Szeged last night. Problem 1: the accelerator is a thumb push, which means you can't hold onto the handlebar properly. I hit a bump at speed and my right hand got knocked totally off the handlebar. Problem 2: Arrived near my destination but the app wouldn't let me end the ride saying I was in a restricted zone. I checked the map and saw I wasn't. I moved further down the street away from the restricted zone and tried to end again without success. I repeated this 5 times, eventually ending up around 300 metres away from the restricted zone before being able to end the ride. I wasted time repeatedly trying end the ride, incurred extra expense because I couldn't end the ride, and then had to walk all the way back to where I actually need to be. If I had walked I think I would have got to my destination quicker and saved myself a near accident, a sore hand from trying to grip the thumb push with the handlebar (I always get this), and 750fts.

Would not recommend using Lime e-scooters in London: - Double the price of rival companies. My partner and I both rented scooters from different companies and completed the same journey. The cost of mine was 50% more expensive, for the same trip. - there are so many restrictions on where you can go you end up having to push most of the time, and there's little warning of when you'll enter a low speed zone. It would have been quicker and cheaper to rent a bike. - not many parking spaces, and all a fair walk away from major transport hubs... Makes it an inconvenient and expensive mode of transport. I will not be using again.
