Laurel Road: a Glowing Review
For months over half of my salary had been drained from paying my education loans. And not just any loans - seven different loans, all with their unique, terrifying interest rates and terms, guaranteeing to drain me for the next five to twenty-five years of my currently quite underpaid and overworked life. I knew I had to refinance but was nervous about what options I would have with limited credit history and, after five years of college totally paid for by loans, an immense about of debt. I began reading articles on "Top 10 Banks to Refinance Your Education Loans," but one after the other the instant rates would fail to come through, or after filling in one or two lines about my salary and amount to be refinanced I would instantly get rejected. Laurel Road provided a different experience from the start. They asked for things that made sense, and gave me the impression that I was being seriously considered for a loan, and not just provided an answer as the result of an algorithm. Amongst documents related to the loans I was asked to provide a college transcript and recent paystubs, and this was really encouraging, as it made me feel that I was being considered as an individual. Within a week I was provided with an interest rate that was lower than all of those attached to the seven loans I was trying to consolidate. Customer service was available at every step of the way as I quite painlessly conducted my break from my previous loan servicer. And, as an added bonus, my already low interest rate became even lower once I agreed to automatic monthly payments. After so many failed attempts to simplify my life, it was a huge relief to finally get my loans under control. Now I can not only handle my payments and save money, but I am also able to pay ahead, which is hugely rewarding. I certainly recommend Laurel Road and am glad that they made it onto that article.
