When I was looking to refinance my student loans I was referred to Laurel Road (formerly known as DRB when I refinanced) by a website I follow called The White Coat Investor. I was pleasantly surprised to see how seamless and easy the application and approval process was. I did shop around for the best interest rates and found that the ones presented by Laurel Road (DRB) were extremely competitive. After refinancing my student loans, my wife refinanced her student loans too. Again, the application and approval process was easy. Having these lower rates has allowed us to get a leg up on our goal of paying our loans off. The referral bonuses were also great perks. I absolutely recommend refinancing your student loans with Laurel Road if you're looking for competitive interest rates and great service!

I was paying so much a month to my previous lender that it was virtually unlivable. I applied to a few different places and even with a co-signer some refinancing organizations rejected me. Mohela which is now Laurel Road made the process incredibly easy and painless. The wait time was slightly longer than I was hoping but nothing egregious. They were very kind and helpful in all my interactions with them and I have had 0 issues with them. I am truly greatful to have their help.

Customer service was wonderful, however; I was disappointed about the transfer of loans from Nelnet. Nelnet claims this company sent a check to the wrong address within their company, so even though they cashed the check in one part of the company, every time I would follow up they said they hadn’t received the check from Laurel Road, then DRB. I would then call DRB and they would explain they sent the check and it cleared. This went on for about a month until I was almost in tears. The money finally got in the right place, but what a terrible experience. I also had to pay interest to BOTH companies for the same money. This could have been avoided had the check been sent to the right adddress. Although most of my grievance is with Nelnet, I was put in the middle of dealing with an issue that I should not have had to deal with and I feel robbed of the interest I had to pay double for!

I had no issues with the application process. It was quick and intuitive. I got approved very quickly (I provided the requested documents when needed I only had to call customer service once about an issue, they were friendly and helpful (the issue was resolved, it was my fault, I was doing something wrong.

The process was very easy and they saved me a lot of money.
