I came to Midi already on HRT that wasn't working for me and hoping for expert guidance. But the Midi NP had no recommendations or solutions to offer.
After doing my own research — through books and podcasts with US and international perimenopause specialists — I learned that standard estradiol + progesterone doesn't work for all perimenopausal women, and that the first-line treatment for my situation is a progestin-only birthcontrol - to lessen erratic Hormon fluctuations - combined with transdermal estradiol. My Midi NP was clearly unaware of this and simply said she has no further advice to offer than Progesteron+Estradiol.
If you're looking for nuanced, up-to-date perimenopause care, be prepared to do your own research.
I was so excited about Midi’s concept of helping women through perimenopause, and I am so disappointed about the lack of expertise I experienced.

At 51 yrs old at a normal Gyno…
At 51 yrs old at a normal Gyno appointment, my doctor asked me a question about not having any more kids. I have two adult kids! I looked at her with disbelief because I was in there for perimenopause symptoms, counting the days for menopause. I finally realized that I was just a person that she was collecting insurance money from and I was done. Midi Health was referred to me and every day since then I have felt understood. We've made educated decisions for me moving forward, all done with compassion too. It's been fantastic! I recommend Midi health to all my friends.

A hope
For months, I struggled with the California healthcare system, listening to conflicting opinions from three different gynecologists. All they wanted to do was medicate me so I could sleep; they told me that hormone replacement therapy causes cancer, that feeling this way was normal, it was just a natural part of the life stage I was entering—and that I should simply buy something over the counter at the pharmacy to help me cope. I left every single appointment feeling frustrated and desperate due to all the symptoms I was experiencing. My life had taken a drastic turn, both emotionally and physically and I simply couldn't take it anymore. I realized that most doctors aren't properly educated in this field; you have to pay for private care just to find someone who will actually help you and truly listen. Thank God I found out about this app; I booked an appointment without hesitation. I absolutely loved the Nurse Practitioner, Angela Dilaura—for the first time, I felt truly heard and seen. Thank you to the creators of this app; you really had us in mind when you built it.

She actually listens to what I'm…
She actually listens to what I'm saying, not just doing something else while I'm talking. And offers real solutions tailored to what she knows I prefer and I what I feel most comfortable with. She has taken the time to get to know my health history in order to know what would best suit my individual needs and goals. It's hard to find that in the healthcare industry today.
And I LOVE the telehealth, it fits well with my daily life and hectic, schedule. With none of the nonsense of arriving 15 minutes early and sit in different waiting rooms before actually talking to a Doctor who is too distracted to pay attention to you. You end up wasting 2-3 hours of your day for what!?
MIDI HEALTH IS A BREATH OF FRESH AIR!!!

Like millions of women going through…
Like millions of women going through menopause, I am another one seeking to improve my quality of life during this period. Unfortunately, due to the misinformation many healthcare professionals provide about hormone replacement therapy, I was afraid to seek treatment. With Mídi (Jillian Smith), I learned what pre-menopause really is and how hormone replacement therapy truly and safely helps women regain their quality of life. Living with so many unpleasant symptoms cannot be considered normal. It is possible to do something to improve and not just wait for this "phase" to pass. In 15 days, I saw improvements in my sleep quality, hot flashes, irritability, libido, self-esteem, etc. My marriage also benefited 😍. It's not a miracle. This is science and good professionals working together. But my question is: Why isn't there a mass dissemination and campaign for hormone replacement therapies on the part of the government?

I am so happy with my experience using Midii for hormone therapy, getting my first appointment was so quick, the care provider is knowledgeable and has been so great to work with. The prescription has made such a positive change in relieving menopausal symptoms, I feel so much better!! My insurance covers the full cost of the prescriptions and the other fees are affordable, could not be happier.

Truly disappointing :(
I was so excited for my Midi Health appointment. I had waited weeks for the appointment after already waiting months just to book it.
The APRN was lovely, knowledgeable, and followed through with sending the follow up emails and information she mentioned during our visit. Despite those things, I left feeling just as confused and unheard as I have after so many other doctor appointments.
Most of the questions asked were simply confirming information I had already submitted beforehand. After that, I was asked what I wanted, and I explained that I didn’t really know what my options were or what might actually fit my situation. From there, I spent most of the appointment listening to a lot of information, almost all of which was not relevant to me, my lifestyle, or my actual concerns.
A few times I tried to interject or give more context, but instead of follow up questions or curiosity to better understand me, the conversation just continued in the same direction. She spoke for probably 95% of the visit, and that was very different from what I expected based on some of the reviews and experiences so many women describe.
I’m grateful my insurance covered the visit because I honestly don’t know what would have been considered accomplished or helpful enough to justify paying out of pocket.
I’m truly disappointed because I was hopeful this would finally feel different. Instead, I left more confused than before. I did reach out to their customer service and was provided with bios of providers that may align more with what I'm looking for and take an individualized approach.
Before I went ahead and booked another appointment with another co-pay I requested they listen to the call so they could hear a patient being spoken at with largely irrelevant information for nearly an hour and then comp the visit so we could try again. They said they would not comp the visit or at least the co-pay and I don't have a reason to trust that the next visit will be any different so I am not booking another appointment.
From my experience the appointment didn't look, sound, or feel anything like what is described in the marketing ads. Truly disappointing.
