Giving three stars because I didn’t actually end up using this company. Initially I chose International Van Lines because my representative (Ryan) was very communicative, the company had many positive reviews, and the estimate was lower than others I received. As my move approached and I wanted to finalize the details (delivery address, size of the truck, pick-up time, etc.), Ryan stopped responding to my communication and despite multiple e-mails and voicemails, I heard absolutely nothing in response for a full two and a half weeks. With my scheduled pick-up date readily approaching in just 10 days, I began to get anxious and did some more research on International Van Lines and learned that the company has no current for-hire licensing with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and owns zero trucks, tractors, or trailers - all despite Ryan’s assurances to me that IVL did not subcontract any jobs and all equipment used belonged to and was operated by IVL. I also read online from several sources that International Van Lines was paying people to write positive reviews and buying people out to take down their negative reviews, as well as several horror stories about people getting scammed into paying more money and having their belongings destroyed. I decided to go with a larger, well-known carrier licensed with the Department of Transportation, and requested to cancel my move with International Van Lines. Based on my experience at that point, I thought obtaining my $700 deposit would be a nightmare, but I was pleasantly surprised to receive an e-mail verification of the refund the business day after I canceled and saw the money returned to my card shortly thereafter.

I had a last minute move and didnt have much time to decide. IVL was the first moving company I spoke with and I didnt look further. My sales rep (Justin) did a great job explaining everything to me in detail. He offered to send someone to my home for an on-site estimate, but i didnt have the time so we went over everything verbally. After I agreed to proceed they sent the movers 2 days laters. The movers that they sent were great. There were 3 guys in total and they made sure everything was packed properly. I decided to pack the boxes myself to help save a few bucks. The process from start to finish took about a week or so. The crew that delivered was different then the pick up crew, but they were just as good. I'm happy I came across these guys and I would use them again if I ever had to move.

I used IVL for a long-distance move from Los Angeles to South Florida. I found IVL by doing some basic online research. I've had a bad experience in the past so this time I was making sure I picked the right company. IVL sent a local rep to come by my house and perform a visual survey. They then went on to give me a "binding rate" for my move. The guys that showed up were great. They did a good job packing and insurance everything was in order. The whole move took about 2 week from pick up to delivery. I had a good experience and would recommend them to anyone looking for a quality mover

I used IVL for my move from Naples, FL to Palm Beach, FL. The movers were easy to deal with. They showed up on time and did a great job packing. The foreman (Serge) went above and beyond with this moe. I had a couple of bad experiences in the past and was happy I cam across IVL. I would recommend them and would use them again.

Used these guys for a move to NY. Things were pretty smooth. Movers showed up on time, no damage and no hidden charges. No complaints from me. I would use them again.

This company is sloppy, irresponsible and unprofessional when they made mistakes. They use unethical tactic to take advantage of their customers. Reference#1308565 This is a misadventure that I had to endure in shipping my personal items from Bloomington, Indiana to Bangkok, Thailand. This is a door to door move. The sales person Judy York was apparently nice at first, but disappeared when things went wrong! Furthermore, this company denied responsibility for all mistakes caused by their own employee failure. Instead they blame their own customer. -The mishap began when potential added fees were heavily obscured from the initial quotation of 7,435 dollar(email on Nov 3rd). This was done so the cost would appear to be lower. Right from the moment the deposit is made, IVL consistently added more questionable charges. On top of the initial quotation, I was charged at least 478 USD...Every delays, mistakes, and responsibility are pushed to me. -Then another big mistake happened: The shipment arrived at the wrong province/city. Instruction and quotation is based on shipment arriving at port PAT in Bangkok. But the shipment arrives at port BMT in a different city/province called Samutprakarn. They are geographically different....This is very unprofessional because the exact port and city have been emphasized both verbally and in writing right from the beginning on November 1st and 2nd 2016. This resulted in additional transportation fee of 682 USD. -Other facts: This company never gives advance notification on upcoming payments. They would simply threaten to delay shipment if the money were not paid right at the moment of notice. For example, I suddenly had to pay 6,530 without any prior warnings! They would also take advantage of payment situation by adding 2% late fee that accumulates daily! (Pretty sure it's illegal to do that)... -Any verbal proposal and promise means nothing: the general manager Scott appeared to be understanding and proposed some compensations. Once the phone was hung up, he backed out of his proposal. After a 2 week communication, through email, I was offered a meager 150 USD even though I lost 1,160.84 USD due to their tactics, mistakes, and irresponsibility. Then he suddenly threatened that he will not pay unless I sign a "special contract" not to tell anyone about the bad experience I had. (Feb 9th) So I can confirm that stories from other reviews/complaints were true! Initial quotation: 7,435 USD Final amount that I paid: 8,595.84 USD Difference: 1160.84

Shipping things overseas is a daunting task for those of us with no experience. The staff at IVL explained everything clearly and warned of potential problems. It would have been darn near impossible for me to pull this off alone. I don't know how many headaches they saved me, but I imagine quite a few.

I was very happy with my long distance move and all of the staff at International Van Lines. Great people! Great communication! Great equipment! Couldn't ask for a better move and 100% recommend them! Top notch moving company.
