Crooks. The absolute worst company. I also fell for the rating information and I also had to deal with "trisha"and "melinda". They are both bullies. This is a broker. They are not the corporation. It is a total bait and switch situation. As soon as you give them their cut, they could care less. They wouldn't return phone calls or emails. When the "movers" arrived super late, they told me it would be 3000-4000 more. I tried to call the international and no one would answer the calls. No one. The movers kept pressuring me to make a decision. Also, demi told me that I would get free 30 day storage and that was a lie. Thank goodness that I have good friends. They rallied and helped me find new movers. Seriously, do not trust these people. I bet my stuff would have been damaged or "lost". Crooks.

First impression - great. The quote was quick and straightforward. But as soon as we signed the contract things have gone south. Absence of communication to begin with - they take time to email back and when they do, eventually, their - Trisha's - response pretty much says "we don't care". When you call for anything else but a quote you get a host of voice memos and end up in a voicemail. Delivery date after a storage period? Make sure you talk to the contractors ahead of time because IVL does not care. Extra services contracted via IVL - like moving a precious piano - we are still waiting for that to be completed....

Well I'm sure they'd be great if they'd only call me back to get a quote. I've called and called and called and left many messages for my coordinator and his assistant - all to no avail. Clearly they don't want my business. I've given up. If they can't even be bothered to give me a quote, imagine what they'd be like if there was a problem with my move.

We had a horrible experience with this company. I read a few reviews and saw all the “number 1” advertisements and decided to go with them for our move from Louisiana to Florida. The quote seemed fair. They brokered out another moving company from Texas and at pickup, even though we had fewer items than when we first received our quote (we sold a bed, two dressers, a sofa and dining room table) it was still $1000 over. I asked a lot of questions as to why but we went ahead. At this point what could I do? All my furniture was loaded on the truck. They said it usually takes 2-7 days to get there but they have to tell me it could take up to 21 days “but that never happens, we just have to say that”. They also send an email stating you can get updates if you email or call. 10 days later, we’ve heard nothing so we emailed for an update and get a generic copy paste reply with no answers or not estimated time of delivery. We called again the next day and were told our furniture had been dropped off in Houston, Texas and would be picked up sometime soon. No where on our estimate does it say our furniture would be dropped off anywhere much less in the opposite direction of where we were moving. It took 13 days to get our furniture. The moving company IVL booked to move our stuff showed up with the moving truck and two other vehicles with their girlfriends inside wanting to come in my house and use my bathroom IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC. I have broken furniture, a ton of broken glass from smashed boxes, scratched mirrors and art and of course International Van Lines doesn’t take any responsibility. The movers also just set furniture that they took apart down on the floor and left it for me to put back together. Two desks and the bottom leg stands from two tv’s. Just threw the hardware beside it. They even set a large tv screen in a dog bed and left it. I’m not at all happy with this company. Hopefully I’ll never have to move again but you couldn’t pay me to use their company. We paid over $7000 for this move and now have to buy new furniture. Steer clear!!

IVL contracted with a local company, YRC to pick up my packages as I was moving to Europe. I had to leave my apartment on a Sunday, and the move was scheduled Friday. When Friday rolls around, the shipper pushes the pickup window multiple times. On my final call to dispatch, it turns out the driver marked the pickup as complete and left for the day. YRC apparently does not do business over the weekend, dispatch had left, so I was left with a bunch of boxes that had to be moved by Sunday, but couldn't be moved until Monday. I immediately rescheduled for Monday. When I attempted to call the rep handling my account, I called his office and personal line, and I also called IVLs customer service line. I received no answer, nor return call, in spite of leaving messages about my plight. On Monday, YRC once again pushed the date to Tuesday, when they finally picked it up 4 full days late. I took this to IVL and requested some compensation. They denied any responsibility, since all they had done was scheduled it - how could they have done anything wrong?! Their policy is not to provide any compensation for unforeseen delays. Just the foreseen delays, I guess. I went back and forth about this with them, until they strong armed me, saying that I could either pay, or pick up or have some other shipper pick up my stuff from its locations 1000 miles away from its original location, and 10000 miles away from me. So, since I paid full price for a discount rate service, I bring this to you - If you need to move internationally, look elsewhere.

Based on information obtained from Move.org, talking to other moving companies and reading other reviews, I booked a 600-mile move with IVL. Initially, I was very impressed with the customer service support. When the movers actually arrived, I was impressed with their friendliness, hard work and dedication to their jobs. Because another load was on their truck, they could not load everything on the truck. My car was totally full, so I left a wheelbarrow and many smaller items for whomever wanted them. When the load was delivered, the same crew - plus a local hire - unloaded with the same speed and dedication shown earlier. I fed the men when loading and unloading. Based on their hard work, I also tipped them. HOWEVER, when I began unpacking my items, I found that irreparable damage was done to a number of items and furniture had scratches and chips that had not been there before. A 12' long shuffleboard had compression damage to the top. Crystal and glass items were marked "fragile" in several places on the boxes and were carefully packed in foam and paper. Many were broken in numerous pieces. Since I packed my own items and knew insurance would not pay for damage, I did not buy their insurance. I truly believe that the damage could be attributed to the truck being overloaded and the speed of work done by the movers, resulting in carelessness.

Removed due to policy of trustpilot

International Van Lines (IVL) was a huge disappointment. I contracted IVL to ship items of great importance to me from Boston, Massachusetts to Europe. The items included an antique cabinet, a precious lamp, and family heirlooms -- including several vases and framed wedding photographs. The crew that IVL sub-contracted to pick up the items in Boston missed the pick-up, and it took far too long to arrange a new pick-up date. When the crew finally picked up the items in Boston, they just threw everything into boxes, without appropriate wrapping or protection. Framed photographs arrived with shattered glass because they had not been wrapped, the lamp arrived unwrapped and broken, two vases that were family heirlooms were broken beyond repair, and the antique cabinet's feet had broken off because this valuable piece of furniture had not been properly protected by the movers. (According to our contract with IVL, we paid for "full packing, wrapping and loading by a professional moving team, and packing materials.") Furthermore, after seeing all the damaged items when they were delivered to my home in Europe, I immediately emailed the IVL person responsible for my shipment, requesting a phone conversation to discuss all the damaged items. To my regret, he has refused to speak with me by phone. Although I called his cell phone on the day he said he would be available to speak with me, he did not answer and he did not return my call or email me. Thus, I had a terrible experience with IVL.
