We are a family of 4. 3 of us are now on oxygen, 2 as a result of covid-19. Our 1st Inogen unit was a G4 after my wife's 2nd hospitalization for pneumonia. After trying to deal with tanks we purchased the Inogen G4 because it was the lightest unit that could easily supply her oxygen needs. Using the unit is simplicity itself. Turn in on, set the oxygen flow and basically forget it. It's smart delivery system (pulsed rather than continuous) not only provides sufficient oxygen but effectively manages battery life. The G4 has good but not great battery life. That's the tradeoff with size and weight. We get about 4 hours out of the double battery, so 2 batteries are required for an all day outing. The size, configuration and weight (it's very light) make it ideal for carrying for extended periods. The service department has been great. We purchased the larger at home unit with the G4. It had a problem after18 months of operation and was replaced quickly by service. The G4 started giving us low O2 errors at about 2 years of use and it was quickly replaced by service. Each time the service rep was helpful and speedy in getting us what we needed. Maintenance is easy. Keep the filters clean and replace the columns when the display indicates. No tools required, great pictorial instructions. Took me less than 5 minutes and the G4 was back to performing perfectly. Then Covid hit, putting myself and oldest daughter in the ICU. We are both home now and grateful to God to be alive. However since both of us had existing lung conditions we were hit hard. We are now both require oxygen continuously. So I purchased a G5 since my need is for 3 Liters. The G5 is larger and heavier than the G4 by about 30%. I don't find the increased size a problem. What I am thrilled with is the battery life. The double battery gives 7 hours at 3L and 10 hours at 2L. I also love the bluetooth connection to an app on my smartphone to monitor the unit. I use a backpack most of the time so having the app to tell me battery condition is very handy. My daughter is renting a G3 from our oxygen provider as she is unable to afford a purchase at this time. She finds the G3 easy to carry and has good battery life. All in all we are very pleased with the Inogen equipment and equally pleased with the service. They were there when we needed them and they quickly got us what we needed. I highly recommend them.

The product is very heavy and the strap always leaves a huge red mark on my neck. Also the battery doesn’t seem to last as long as was advertised

I want to put strap over my head so I don’t have to hold on shoulder but very uncomfortable against my neck

I have the Inogen G5 as well as the home unit. Both of them are amazing. The home unit is extremely quiet, especially compared to the monster I used to rent. The G5 is light-weight enough that it does not cause stress while carrying it. I especially like that I don't have to worry about a tank running out. The sales person I dealt with was amazing and went above and beyond to make sure all questions were answered.
