I need to access my purchased 2019 Turbo Tax software to answer questions posed to me by the IRS. 2019 has a know activation bug. The workarounds don't work, and their answer was "we don't support it anymore and you can request a refund". They don't support their software while it is still within the IRS audit cycle? RUN AWAY! And their "Audit Defense" service is for what?

Fraudulent charges
I went all the way through preparing state and federal returns. Fought through the constant attempts to get me to buy additional products which I denied. Got to the payment, paid by credit card, got receipt with additional charge for MAX for $59. They refuse to refund. Filed fraud complaint with credit card company and BBB>

Adding to terrible record I see for…
Adding to terrible record I see for TuboTax, as a user for almost 15 years.
Needed to revise the 1040 that I filed withTT.
Then it gave me a correct refund. But when I tried to enter my bank data for refund the TT form had some strange digit in the blanks and would not accept all the digits of my bank account.
Should I still file the amended return through TT? Then ask IRS for refund?
Well, TT then tolld me I could file return - but there also said I had no refund.
Seems obviious TT programming errors but have wasted hours in trying make a specific contact with TT.
I will not forget this pitiful response from TT!

Horrible x 10!!
Horrible x 10!!! The TurboTax software, 1) Has bugs, 2) Is INTENTIONALLY VAGUE & CONFUSING so you're FORCED to upgrade to plan where you need to speak w an expert (ripoff!!), 3) Long wait times for "expert advice" (inexcusable), 4) The "experts" (most of the time) are NOT accountants or CPA's!!! THE SOFTWARE (and support) ARE SO BAD I HAVE NO IDEA IF MY TAXES ARE CORRECT!!!! I have spent hours and hours WASTING MY TIME on this over- promise/under-deliver service. UNBELIEVABLE & AVOID. And stop watching their incessant (BS) commercials!! Last point: to give you an idea of how BAD customer support (and appreciation) is: just look at ALL the 1-star reviews WITH NO RESPONSE FROM THE COMPANY!!! THEY DON'T CARE...ABOUT YOU OR YOUR TAXES.

Intuit has taken a great product…
Intuit has taken a great product (TurboTax) and turned it into a rotten experience. You buy the program over the counter for $99 to $129. But now intuit wants to hustle and hammer you for more BS fee's for things that are of no value. This is why this rotten company is being sued and has paid out millions to consumers. Use the internet to learn how to avoid fee hustle and just use TT.

FRAUDULENT COMPANY UPGRADE PRODUCT WITHOUT TELLING YOU
Only to find out only when you go to file your return and it's considerably more money. Then told me the only way to use the product I wanted was to completely erase everything and choose a different product and start over. I've been filing with them for years and started my return thinking I was using the same product I've always used - what a surprise when I went to file and it was twice as money as I've paid previously. Their customer service person couldn't have cared less. There are quite a few alternatives. My recommendation would be to go elsewhere.

This should be illegal
A completely useless "tax software" it is much quicker to file by paper. Even getting started is almost impossible. There is ZERO support (not even a pretend effort is made). So it's basically an online printout of the income tax return form, where you have to pay to access anything beyond the basics (even without help). Of course this is free in the paper version. and there is NO OPTION to ask questions before purchasing

A Disappointing Experience with Intuit TurboTax: Shady Practices and Hidden Costs
As I began my search for a trustworthy tax filing service, I couldn't help but stumble upon Intuit TurboTax, a popular tax software provider. While it's widely recognized, I've discovered several alarming issues that I believe prospective users should be aware of before making their decision.
To begin with, Intuit has been known to lobby politicians to prevent the creation of a free, government-run tax filing system in the United States. This is a stark contrast to the tax filing process in most other first-world countries, where citizens can file their taxes directly on government websites, without cost. It's clear that Intuit's primary concern is preserving its profits rather than providing a service that benefits the American public.
Furthermore, TurboTax advertises its "free" tax filing service, which, in reality, is anything but. The platform is designed with dark patterns, making it nearly impossible for the average American to navigate the system and file their taxes without eventually being pushed towards paid options. This misleading marketing tactic leaves users feeling cheated and frustrated.
My personal experience with TurboTax was a disheartening one. After switching to a different tax filing service, I started receiving an additional $800 in tax refunds, despite my income remaining the same. This substantial difference raises concerns about the behind-the-scenes practices at Intuit and whether they have their customers' best interests at heart.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend Intuit TurboTax as a reliable or ethical tax filing service. Their lobbying efforts to block free government tax filing, misleading "free" filing advertisements, and questionable business practices have left me deeply disappointed. There are better alternatives available, and I urge anyone considering TurboTax to explore other options for a more transparent and trustworthy tax filing experience.
