I did a search to stay at a particular Hyatt hotel with check-in on June 28th. Your site indicated 5 or 6 different types of rooms were available. When I selected one and went to checkout, it stated the reservation could not be cancelled or refunded.. The reservation details were not given on the checkout page, so I went back to the search page and checked the dates. They were as requested and the payment. The confirmation popped up and indicated check-in was that same night, June 22nd. An email follow up said the same. Called the customer service number at the top of the page, they said it was not their booking. Same for the service number at the bottom. Tried the 3rd service number with the same result. Tried to cancel the reservation and got a 4th number, it seemed promising but then the agent's terminal crashed and contact was lost. A couple of calls to Hyatt generated some additional leads. Eventually, they led to Expedia and then to a central billing site and finally to Hotels.com. Their agent indicated that she cancelled the reservation and would send a refund confirmation. Chasing leads from one affiliate company to another took over 4 hours. Still waiting on the confirmation. Just call be Totally Dissatisfied

HOTEL ROOMS WERE CHEAPER ON EXCALIBUR'S WEBSITE. WHEN I CALLED HOTELRESERVATIONS THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY CAN NOT MATCH THE HOTEL'S WEBSITE PRICE. UNBELIEVABLE. IT WAS ABOUT $200 CHEAPER!

I am taking my daughter to visit Texas Tech. I have never been to Lubbock, Texas so choosing a hotel was confusing. I read the reviews on hotels and picked a price point I was comfortable. I will know next week if the reviews were true. I am satisfied with my experience so far.

I would proudly recomend this service to anyone very comfidently.

I have 2 reasons why I will never again use hotelreservations,com, and strongly recommend that others avoid this service as well. 1. It is not readily apparent when booking on the website that you are not on the hotel's own website. I thought I was booking a hotel room in Quebec City through the Best Western website, but was actually using hotelreservations.com. I find this to be a deceptive practice. 2. After discovering that I had booked through hotelreservations.com and not the Best Western website, I immediately telephoned (same day, within 15 minutes) to cancel the reservation. When I checked my credit card statement a few days later, I noticed that after the hotel reservation charge was credited, a $12 USD fee was added to my credit card even though the confirmation email I received when the room was originally booked indicated that there wasn't any cancellation fee if the room was cancelled at least 48hours before arrival (it was). When I telephoned to inquire I was told the charge was a "booking fee". I consider this a rip off as there was no mention in the confirmation email of a "booking fee". The good news is that my credit card company agreed with me and reversed the charge to that hotelreservations.com will not be banking the $12USD charge.

.....the reason why is because you never followed up when I had to cancel. After three (3) phone calls waiting for a confirmation showing the reservation was cancelled we finally went to the credit card company. This note doesn't even rate a star.
