Once we scheduled our "vacation" through you, we realized we weren't staying at the beautiful resort, we were staying at a regular Holiday Inn to go to another resort to listen for 2 hours on the benefits of interval ownership. When we had to change the time we were scheduled to listen to the sales pitch, we were told we could not. Choice was to reschedule vacation, for a fee, or cancel. We lost $199. Got nothing for our trouble but wasted time and money. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

We were contacted by Holiday Inn Club Vacations due to us being IHG card carriers. We were promised a vacation package in South Lake Tahoe in exchange for listening to their 2 hour timeshare presentation. The deal, which I have via the notes I took during the call, and in an email confirmation, was we pre-paid $279 for 4 nights. After the presentation, we'd be given $179 in cash plus 20k IHG points. The $179, we were told, was "to cover the local taxes and fees". So, we'd be expected to pay the taxes/fees, but would be reimbursed $179 in cash, which, again, we were told "will cover the taxes and fees". Well, we were charged $302 for taxes and fees. That's over $75 per night in taxes and fees. If we'd have known it was going to be that high (on top of the $279 we already paid), we would not have done the deal. (We did not sign up for a timeshare, but we did sit through the presentation.) It ended up being over $100/night. Not much of a "deal". Also, when we booked with the rep over the phone, our stay was to be at Bally's. That's what I wrote down in my notes. When we received the email confirmation, it had us at a different property, away from Stateline (meaning we'd have to drive everywhere and park, instead of everything being within walking distance). I called, they apologized for the mixup, and assured we were now booked into Bally's. A week before the trip, I got a text asking me to text Y to confirm our stay...at the OTHER property. I called back. They were "very sorry", but Bally's is "now fully booked, and there's nothing they can do". It was a total bait and switch. We stayed at the Beach Resort, which wasn't much of a resort. The fireplace in our room was broken, and the on-site sportsbar/cafe was crappy microwaved food.

Avoid this. It’s a waste of time and money. The promises of luxury and dream vacations are false. You’ll get overpriced, disappointing resorts that fail to meet basic expectations. Worse, you’ll be stuck in a contract with rising annual fees. It’s a mistake I regret. Don’t make the same one. Stay away.

My parents bought this over 40 years ago at Orange Lake. They paid cash. Years later I paid over $5000 to upgrade the membership because they said our week without a points plan was obsolete. The fees a taxes and fees are about $1750 a year. Not a good value especially if you have to pay again to transfer points to IHG. If your want to get out you can't contact the Horizons department on the phone - they don't answer the phone. Here is what the we page says: "Thinking of canceling or selling your timeshare? We’re here for you with Horizons. To ensure that you get the best assistance, please verify your owner details: If qualified for the program, a $1,200 processing fee per contract is collected. I called the billing department. If you stop paying she said they will harass you with collections calls and will ruin your credit. Why do you have to pay to get out. This means this whole ownership has negative less than zero value.

It's a scam. Avoid at all possible. They will keep charging your credit card without authorizations

These resorts are filled with salespeople constantly pushing contracts. It’s exhausting and makes the experience less enjoyable.

I regret signing with them. I was pressured into it, and I’m now locked into an agreement that doesn’t meet my needs at all.
