Every review on this site is accurate. This company cannot even get a simple phone number that you provide accurately. I have been through several background checks, including federal and security clearance backgrounds with polygraphs, and no other background has been as miserable as with HireRight. They continuously call the wrong state for an employer that's not even the employer I added to the application. After 7 days of me attempting to get them to call the correct number, they ignored the numbers provided and called the wrong state every day. I escalated this to their "escalation" team that could supposedly fix this to get berated and talked to like garbage and that the researchers sometimes "make mistakes." I'm sorry, but after 3 or 4 times of doing the same thing, that's not a mistake it's laziness and incompetence. I have written two reviews in my life, with this being the second ever. This company is hot garbage, and I honestly have no clue how they have a contract with ANY company. It doesn't matter how hard you work to attempt to get the information fixed; their employees will ignore you and your documentation. It also doesn't matter how certifiable your documentation is they will say "it could be forged." Yet, they take W2s which could again also be forged. It all boils down to they are lazy and incompetent with a plethora of excuses. Yet, if we made these same excuses and mistakes, we would likely be fired or face reprimand. It appears they promote at HireRight based on how incompetent you can be. Going up to escalation or supervisors was a waste of time. If I could give a negative rating, I would; they are that bad. It's also annoying that the customer service on these reviews adds their number and email, yet that's the same number I've called all week. They don't care to get the information fixed, but they want it to look like they care on here while it's blatantly obvious they don't care, or they wouldn't have 1-star reviews across the board. The fix is the resolve issues before they become a bad review, not after. *Update* They never fixed the discrepancy in my report and sent the information to the requesting company with false information provided due to being too lazy to literally use the number provided or double-check the area code to which they were calling. Absolutely terrible company to deal with, avoid at all costs.

Horrible website full of bugs - and they ask for the wrong documentation. I am not graduated yet and they asked for the degree certificate. Waste of time.

The experience has been terrible. I provided all of the documents and contacts from previous employers in my original submission, nonetheless they keep asking for the same data over and over again, which does not make any sense. It should not be rocket science, just call the number I gave you and confirm my employment.

Absolutely horrible, not only the web page is horrible and full of bugs (accept the privacy policy on each step, unable to delete a field after creating it...) but also they don't verify correctly the submitted documents. Also, they want you to sign a document that literally says: "I further authorise ANY third party source (...) to respond to ANY enquires made and to provide the personal data requested of them". Are you f****** kidding? Not a service to be taken seriously.

A company that is not trustful, that is not in touch with the reality, that leaves robots to do its job, when they don't want to answer they cut the chat and you need to start everything from scratch. I don't think they read what you sent, they only ask for more. Amazing is that when filling the so called application you don't have too many options, many of the real life possibilities don't exist for them. Also the reality of other countries is applied to the pattern of only one - not sure what country is that. There are quite a lot of different ways to get hired and to have a job in this world but for them is only the pattern. I have a few screen shoots if the complain about this review. And I would have given it -100 stars if it was possible Edit: Amazing I've got an answer here, the standard answer, write to us, we will not answer in our life but looks good that we answered. Beside not reading what I provided and asking again and again the same materials, you don't even know how to do your job. I am pretty sure you are a scam company and my information will show up in some other scammers data bases.

The absolute worst for Information about anyone are anybody anywhere it's all second hand Information That Can be made up about anyone anytime a completely unreliable source for information about anyone

I’m going through a background check right now and it is appalling. Being asked for the same documents over and over, not accepting that they can’t have end of work documents when I haven’t gotten to the last day of my current job, not being capable of calling the phone number they’ve been given for a previous employer and asking me for the name and contact detail of that HR. Why can’t these people do their jobs? It’s not hard to dial a number and ask for HR. Don’t bother to ask me for contracts and pay slips for places I haven’t worked for years. I won’t have them. Don’t ask me who the HR people are. I don’t know. Dial the phone and ask to speak to the HR person. I’m starting to regret accepting a job that looks like it could be really good.

I've never went through so unsolid and ridiculous background check. In my opinion company that uses hireright services simply loosing money. Through whole process I was just asked to scan, send and provide all documentation myself. There was zero check or analytics job in it. I could just deliver this documentation directly to my future employer. During the process I've clearly notified "researchers" that I'm on the holiday and will provide documentation with week delay. Day after this call I've received another one with the same question. That was really indescribable level of data gathering skill. At the end of process, when whole documentation should be send to the employer I was again asked to provide some documentation - which was already uploaded on hireright account. I've literally uploaded same document again. Constant emails and reminders from system wasn't clear enough why I have to do that, so I had to reach help myself. Really hoping those all my data won't leak at some point. I really advise against trying to work there or using this company services.
