The therapist needed a therapist... There were only about 2 therapists available to me-in network for my insurance. I chose one of them. I had a few sessions with her and she told me so much about her life during the sessions I started to question who was getting treatment at the sessions. Whenever I would share something she would bring the topic of conversation back to her and her own trauma. It seemed very much like she wanted to be friends and she provided no clear insight or support for issues I wanted to discuss. Also in the fine print at the bottom of the appointment reminder email it says that amount quoted is estimated for a 1 hour session. This therapist constantly pushed our appointments beyond 1 hour talking about herself. I would remind her of the time and she would keep talking. I think she may have done this in order to be paid more for the session which is terribly unethical. Beware. Unfortunately I would not recommend this provider because of this experience.

I had my first appointment with Jethro LaShaunda in December 2022. I made it very clear that I was looking to go on a medical leave of absence since I was in a terrible state of mind and needed some time off to reset. She was open to it and immediately told me that she would charge $200(which is pricey but my mental health was more important). When the time came to actually start the process for medical leave of absence she tells me that she cant sign off on the paperwork for more than 3 weeks and then 2 weeks at a time thereafter with an additional charge of $100 each time. So a 12 week leave of absence will cost me $600!! When I spoke to my employer and other friends who had been on medical leave informed me that it takes 2 weeks to get the paperwork, have it filled, submitted and approved. What she was proposing (3 weeks and every 2 weeks there after)was going to be a paperwork nightmare where I’ll be spending my whole leave going back and forth between DLS, the therapist and DLS, and insurance and CA SDI too. By FMLA federal law , employer isn’t allowed to request paperwork more often than 30 days at a time and my employer requires paperwork every 60 days at a time - nothing less and nothing more. When I let her know that her answer was "At this point in treatment, I am not comfortable providing a 60 day approval. We can discuss further if you would like to schedule a follow up." This person is such a scammer!! The paperwork for medical leave of absence is so minimal and she shouldn't even be charging $200 to do it given that she charges $450 an hour! Even if you put the cost aside she should have been upfront that she clearly has not done this before and does not want to do it. It is people like this that make it so difficult to seek help for mental health issues in this country. Needless to say I will not be using Headway ever again!

I wish I read the reviews before I started. I enrolled last year. Took me forever to find a therapist - most therapists on there don’t have accurate hours for when they are actually available, you aren’t able to filter by the type of mental health license they have, and Ive had multiple sessions with multiple providers who were completely distracted taking care of their babies and children the entire session. After I finally found a great therapist out of 10+ that I met (and countless hours scrolling and trying to arrange sessions only to be turned down due to inaccurate schedules) here’s the truly infuriating part - for some reason when the new year started, they reset my insurance info on my account to some unknown policy. I’ve submitted a ticket and I keep getting bounced around to different departments all the while given generic “we will get back to you soon” despite it having been weeks already. I’ve incurred HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of dollars that should be completely covered by insurance by now, Ive met my deductible a long time ago. I’ve pleaded with them multiple times because it’s hard to be out of $600 unexpectedly, but I just keep getting responses that look like a computer wrote them without any sort of explanation or resolution. If you do not want to be randomly out of hundreds of dollars with no explanation and no resolution, stay away.

Hello Everyone, I'd like to share some experience with the first impression (and last) I currently use Brilliant and Luminosity I saw the Nibble Headway app sponsored on Instagram and thought to try it out for a month (I'm on Android BTW) I joined using my email and picked a ONE month plan I clicked yes to the Podcast /Audio book add on expecting to get prices on the next page I end up being charged (through Google pay) - 1 MONTH (which is what I wanted 10 USD - Audio/Pod (didn't want) 20USD -somethibg else for 9USD was expecting to give it a one month trial for 10USD ENDED UP BEING CHARGED 40USD Customer service says no refund according to policies

Textbook fraud and misrepresentation. Headway and the therapist both confirmed that I was 100% covered via my insurance and only after submitting a claim it turns out the session it was not at all $0 or 100% covered, instead it was hundreds of dollars. Headway customer service does not exist. No replies to emails and they dont have a phone number.... I'm not paying a dime. Headway needs to resolve this.

Headway is helpful for us to select great Therapist or Psychiatrist! It is easy to schedule appointments or communicate with provides via Headway website. It accepts many kind of medical insurances.

They keep telling me they’re enrolling my provider to submit my claim from a month and a half ago. My insurance says they have no record. I asked customer service when they think they’ll be able to submit the claim and they just said they don’t know and closed the ticket. I haven’t seen my therapist since the first appointment because I can’t keep paying $130/hr without knowing if, how or when they will submit a claim to my insurance company. It’s been a bad experience.

I'm not sure what Headway's vetting process is with their therapists, but we did not have a good experience. Our therapist was clinically irresponsible and, in my opinion, unethical. I will say that the abundance of available therapists and the ease of scheduling is a plus, but in good conscious, I cannot recommend this platform.
